It’s definitely usable. It’s a nice name in general, but not my cup of tea
I associate it with the name [name_f]Maren[/name_f]. I think if I met a girl namesd [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] it would be really cool. It gives off good vibes. I picture a confident, funny and pretty girl
I love [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] - it has such a great sound. I feel like it’s one of those names that manages to balance being super cute, mature and tough.
Definitely usable! I really like [name_f]Marnie[/name_f]. This might be a silly association but I think of [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] from the Halloweentown movies. Someone quirky, adorable and strong. It also sounds like it’s a girl from the 70s but I like that about it.
I love [name_f]Marnie[/name_f]!! It’s totally usable. I picture someone spunky and fun who is completely comfortable in their own skin… I don’t know why. Oh and really friendly!
I think of the character from Halloweentown, so not a bad connection.
@aurorag- I definitely think [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] has a good vibe! I hadn’t thought of [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] being similar to [name_f]Maren[/name_f], but I can see it! I like [name_f]Maren[/name_f], too.
@greyblue- thanks for the description. I agree!
@cactusgram- Ha! I forgot about Halloweentown! I agree about the 70s feel
@llbaby22- thanks! I think so too- something so playful/spunky/happy about [name_f]Marnie[/name_f]!
@autumnreverie- I don’t really remember the movie, but I do remember liking that character, haha
Any thoughts on [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] nn [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] or [name_f]Maren[/name_f]?
This is my association, too, and I get the same impression as you!
I really like [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] and have considered it, but the name is very cutesy and I can’t decide whether or not that bothers me to a great extent. I mean, it makes me think of a 5 year old with pigtails. I can’t really picture an adult [name_f]Marnie[/name_f].
It’s usable, though I prefer it as a nickname. If you’re looking for a full name, my favorites would be [name_f]Marina[/name_f] or [name_f]Marceline[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] but I think that people would end up calling her [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. [name_f]Maren[/name_f] is great!
My first impression would be someone sweet who loves nature-y things like gardening, animals and baking. Probably with brown hair in braids or something cute like that.
It’s not my cup of tea, but I worked with a [name_f]Marnie[/name_f]. She was a lovely person. [name_u]Red[/name_u] hair, and kept guppies.
[name_f]Susan[/name_f]
I have positive associations with the name. I had a camp counselor when I was a kid named [name_f]Marnie[/name_f], she was super upbeat and fun.
I have a good friend named [name_f]Marnie[/name_f]. I like it.
I love [name_f]Marnie[/name_f]! It makes me think of the character from the Halloweentown movies, too. I loved those films growing up, and especially her character.
So because of that, I picture a sweet, smart, spunky girl. Shes strong and stands up for what she believes in. Shes beautiful, inside and out, and is always caring for others. Shes devoted to her family and friends. Shes a little quirky, but unapologetically herself. Shes open minded and accepting, and cares only about who a person is on the inside. She loves to make people laugh, and has a smile that lights up a room. She goes after her dreams, no matter how difficult to achieve they might be. Shes a great person, and definitely someone you’d want to be friends with.
@namergirl3- I have only met adult Marnies, so I can pretty easily see it aging well. I def understand why you would say it’s cutesy, though! -ie ending names can come across as a little saccharine, but I like a lot of them anyway!
@emmievis- [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] might be inevitable! I don’t think it would bother me if I had a daughter called [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], whom I would refer to as [name_f]Marnie[/name_f]/[name_f]Maren[/name_f] whereas others called her [name_f]Rose[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosie[/name_f], so long as she wasn’t bothered. [name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering if [name_f]Marnie[/name_f]/[name_f]Maren[/name_f] might be too much of a stretch?
@ssterikoff- I also know (well…have met) a red-haired [name_f]Marnie[/name_f]!
@stephaniebrooke- wow! It seems like quite a few of the commentors here have said they have known an upbeat/positive (or something along those lines) [name_f]Marnie[/name_f]. Interesting !
@sablonde- ^^, [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] is sounding increasingly friendly
@regionlatbest-" *She loves to make people laugh, and has a smile that lights up a room. She goes after her dreams, no matter how difficult to achieve they might be. Shes a great person, and definitely someone you’d want to be friends with"
Thanks so much for the description! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!
[name_f]Marnie[/name_f] makes me think of one of the lead characters from Girls. For a certain generation, this would probably be a common association.
The only [name_f]Marnie[/name_f] I’ve known in real life was a very kind pharmacist in her 50s I worked with a few years back.
