We got married almost 2 months ago and just found out we are pregnant! Very excited and completely terrified all at same time! We had pretty much decided on our boys name before and I thought we’d decided on girls too but now it’s real I’m questioning! So, our boys name will be [name]Sidney[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] [name]John[/name]. I’d really appreciate any input on our ever expanding girls name list…
Middle names will be [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] by family tradition. Surname [name]Fairchild[/name]-Linley (yes we know it’s long…!)
So:
[name]Oriana[/name]
[name]Anna[/name]
[name]Eva[/name]
[name]Phillipa[/name] or [name]Philippa[/name] - unsure about spelling on this
[name]Coral[/name]
[name]Lavinia[/name]
[name]Helen[/name]
[name]Etta[/name]
[name]Laura[/name]
[name]Irene[/name]
We are open to all suggestions and comments (except ones complaining about the length!).
Congratulations! I am happy for you. I’m not going to complain about the length of your name, but because of it I’d probably be inclined to choose shortish first names for your consideration. So [name]Oriana[/name], [name]Philippa[/name] and [name]Lavinia[/name] would be the first from your list to go, if I was thinning them out. To thin them further, I’d remove the ones that end in vowels, since her first middle name will be [name]Elizabeth[/name] and beginning-and-ending vowels tend to make names run together when you say them aloud. But I’m picky that way, and my own sister’s name is [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]! And we don’t have much trouble saying it.
So if I thin them by those two considerations, you have [name]Coral[/name], [name]Helen[/name] and [name]Irene[/name] left, any of which I think would be beautiful:
I think [name]Coral[/name] and [name]Helen[/name] both have a better flow than [name]Irene[/name], and I think [name]Helen[/name] and [name]Irene[/name] fit best with the style of [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]. With [name]Coral[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Pearl[/name], though, I kind of get the image of a lovely old rosewood jewelry box…coral and pearl necklaces, etc. And of course this doesn’t mean you should abandon your other choices. I think either [name]Anna[/name] or [name]Eva[/name] would be lovely, too. Some other suggestions:
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Anne[/name] (instead of [name]Anna[/name]?)
[name]Bridget[/name]/[name]Brigid[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Lilian[/name]
[name]Mary[/name]
[name]Rachel[/name]
I adore [name]Etta[/name]! I also think [name]Anna[/name], [name]Eva[/name], [name]Laura[/name] (my name!) and [name]Philippa[/name] (this spelling would cause less problems in my opinion) would be great.
I’m leaning towards the two syllable [name]Anna[/name], [name]Etta[/name], [name]Eva[/name] and [name]Laura[/name] because of the double middle name and double barrelled surname.
[name]Sidney[/name] and [name]Eva[/name] work particularly well in my opinion, in case you go on to have another! [name]Sidney[/name] and [name]Etta[/name] would be very unexpected and sweet.
I love the sound of [name]Etta[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Pearl[/name], and [name]Etta[/name] and [name]Sid[/name] would make great siblings in the future!! Congratulations
[name]Oriana[/name]- Gorgeous. [name]Oriana[/name] has a certain sparkle to me.
[name]Anna[/name]- Oh, I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Anna[/name]! Classic, classy and adorable.
[name]Eva[/name]- Not my style, but better than, say, [name]Ava[/name].
[name]Phillipa[/name]- I’d spell it this way, but I think there are so many better names on this list.
[name]Coral[/name]- I think [name]Coralie[/name] or [name]Cora[/name] are so much better.
[name]Lavinia[/name]- [name]Lovely[/name]! Vintage and sweet.
[name]Helen[/name]- Old-ladyish to me. I know some names are beginning to sound fresh again, but this one still seems crusty to me.
[name]Etta[/name]- Cute, but not gorgeous.
[name]Laura[/name]- I love it! A classic beauty, never out of style in my opinion.
[name]Irene[/name]- I like it, but don’t love it.
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Oriana[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Lavinia[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] and [name]Laura[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] are so beautiful!
I love the name [name]Sidney[/name] for a boy and I think your last name is pretty awesome. [name]Coral[/name], [name]Helen[/name] and [name]Irene[/name] are all great names that would go well with [name]Fairchild[/name]-Linley.
My top 3! [name]Anna[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is the name of a friend of mine and [name]Laura[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is my cousin, so I’m partial to those but I think all 3 sound great with ALL the names, and just with her last name.
I love [name]Irene[/name], but prefer it spelled Ireen or [name]Irina[/name] in its place. I love [name]Anna[/name] but you may come to feel that it’s too simple. Keep in mind that [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] will be hidden from view for the most part, meaning that after the birth announcement very few people will ever know those names are in the mix. My favorite is probably [name]Philippa[/name], followed by [name]Eva[/name] and [name]Helen[/name].
Ooooh! [name]Etta[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] is soo beautiful! I also like [name]Coral[/name], [name]Anna[/name] and [name]Eva[/name], but with [name]Sidney[/name], [name]Etta[/name] is the stand out
I love [name]Oriana[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Pearl[/name], but it would be too long, so [name]Etta[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] is my next option.
