What are your thoughts on the name [name_u]Mars[/name_u]? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you know of any little boy [name_u]Mars[/name_u]’? Is it totally insane/middle name territory only or totally cool/wearable? I’m kind of somewhere in the middle but think it sounds awesome with our last name!
[name_u]Mars[/name_u] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] M@c[name_f]Kimmie[/name_f]
Thanks, x
I prefer it as a middle name or as a nickname for something ([name_m]Marius[/name_m] or [name_m]Marcus[/name_m], for example), but I think it could work.
I think it could work. My brother knew a [name_u]Mars[/name_u] and he wore it fine.
[name_u]Mars[/name_u] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] is great
I like the name in a vacuum but considering that it’s the name of [name_m]Roman[/name_m] god of war I wouldn’t use it as a first.
I personally would not name a person [name_u]Mars[/name_u]. I can see it as a nickname or middle name.
I think [name_u]Mars[/name_u] is a brave and bold name. The association with the brand does bother me a bit though.
[name_m]Lars[/name_m] has a similar sound and is a more mainstream choice.
I don’t care for it as a formal on the birth certificate name but love [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] or [name_m]Marius[/name_m], and the nickname could be [name_u]Mars[/name_u].
I love [name_u]Mars[/name_u] as a first name!
I know two people who go by [name_u]Mars[/name_u], one with it as a nickname and the other as a full name. Among younger people it’s generally considered a very cool modern name, as far as I know. I think of the planet, not the god of war.
I thinks it’s a nice nickname, as it sounds nice, but I wouldn’t use it as a name. Most people will associate it with the planet, which seems quite pompous. I love mythology associations, but having the God of war as a namesake is not great either.
I really like [name_u]Mars[/name_u] and definitely think it could work. [name_u]Mars[/name_u] is both bold and brave in its vibe as well as sweet and gentle in sound, and that strong and gentle thing I adore in a boys name.
[I do see some teasing potential in [name_u]Mars[/name_u] though. I imagine most would associate [name_u]Mars[/name_u] with the planet, which could potentially give little [name_u]Mars[/name_u] the nickname of ‘martian’ which likely wouldn’t be nice for a boy that already perhaps felt a little like an outsider. Also, it’s likely the chocolate bar brand would crop up here and there, which might then spur on some horrible comments if he was a little overweight. That said, any name can give inspiration to bullies…]
I think it could work. [name_m]Plenty[/name_m] of pagan god names in use right now and none of them exactly positive examples. So [name_u]Mars[/name_u] being the god of war does not seem like an issue.
I love the name [name_u]Mars[/name_u] but I don’t think I could name a child just [name_u]Mars[/name_u] by itself. I really like the name [name_m]Marsden[/name_m] with [name_u]Mars[/name_u] as the nn!
