I knew 3 brothers… [name_m]Marshall[/name_m], [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m], and [name_u]McKinley[/name_u]. I think those names are great. For girls, [name_f]McKenzie[/name_f] would be cute.
[name_m]Marshall[/name_m] isn’t my style, but I like it. I went to school with a [name_m]Marshall[/name_m], and it wears very well. As far as sibling names go, I think you could take it in several different directions. [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] can be preppy like [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] and [name_m]Julian[/name_m] or rugged like [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] and [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]. [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] would also go well with underused classics like [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] or the “friendly guy names” like [name_u]Sam[/name_u] and [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]. Looking at the names in your signature, I think these would go well with [name_m]Marshall[/name_m]:

I love [name_m]Marshall[/name_m]! Reminds me of [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] [name_m]Erickson[/name_m] from [name_m]How[/name_m] I Met Your Mother. I agree with southern.maple that you could take [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] in numerous directions as far as sibsets go. It is quite adaptable in that way I think.
I particularly like the idea of [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] and [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] as brothers or [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] as [name_m]Marshall[/name_m]'s little sister.
I had [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] on my long list to go with my sibset.
I actually think it sounds perfect with a brother [name_m]Donovan[/name_m].
I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_m]MARSHAL[/name_m]! (I prefer the one “L” spelling) it is actually number 1 on our list and had been the front runner for a while now. I also just commented on a blog post today about how it deserves more attention.
I do not associate it with the clothing store at all, I think we only have one of them in our whole state and it is not a popular place to shop. I don’t associate it with Eminem either because I don’t think he is very relevant anymore, he doesn’t go by the name [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] and by the time my son is old enough to listen to music like that I doubt Eminem will even be around anymore.
I think [name_m]Marshal[/name_m] is the perfect combo of uncommon but not unheard of. I do not know anyone named [name_m]Marshal[/name_m] personally but it does not sound foreign to me. We plan on using [name_u]Marsh[/name_u] as a nickname, I love it! I think that [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] is a name that will mature as a boy grows. I can see myself calling [name_m]Marshal[/name_m] on a playground and reading it on a diploma. I also think it suites all professions from a firefighter to a lawyer to a professor to a contractor.
[name_m]Long[/name_m] story short, go for it! It is a great name!
