Is [name_m]Martin[/name_m] too old and stuffy? It has a family significance, subtle but meaningful. Could it work for a baby potentially born anywhere from 2024ish to 2032ish? [name_m]Even[/name_m] possibly a few years beyond? So far away, I know, but I am much younger than most of you.
From personal experience with the name, I think it’s such a great name for a baby boy. My brother has an 8 month old named [name_m]Martin[/name_m]. When he first told me his name I definitely thought it felt too old and stuffy as you put it. As soon as my nephew was born it felt like the name [name_m]Martin[/name_m] had new life to it. It completely fits him and I would be so excited to meet another little [name_m]Martin[/name_m].
I think it’s so adorable! I hope it makes a comeback
[name_m]Martin[/name_m] is not my style but it is classic and cool. As for “will it be relevant in 7-10 years?” that is really hard to tell. 2015 was its lowest point in recorded history but in 2016 it jumped 17 spots, so it could be back on the rise. Either way, it’s classic so I doubt it will become unheard of in the next decade.
[name_m]Martin[/name_m] is a nice classic name… keep in mind that all names that might seem ‘old and stuffy’ are made young again when attached to a baby/young child. But even so, I think [name_m]Martin[/name_m] can have some very fresh nickname potential ([name_u]Marty[/name_u] or [name_u]Mars[/name_u]) if you’re concerned about how ‘old’ it would be on a child. For the record though, I don’t think it’s old or stuffy, just underused.
I absolutely love [name_m]Martin[/name_m]! completely missed that one when making my list though… I’m glad you reminded me of it so I can ask my SO what he thinks! obviously I think it’s a great name, defiantly not old or stuffy.
