I like these, and I think with a shorter name, it’s more likely she won’t be called just [name]Mary[/name]. [name]Mary[/name] [name]Cate[/name] is my favorite.
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Grace[/name] -
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Clare[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Cate[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Elle[/name] - I think [name]Mary[/name] [name]Elle[/name] is [name]Elle[/name] Fanning’s real name.
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Ellen[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Shea[/name]
these are nice too:
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Brigid[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Nora[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Zara[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Stella[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Eileen[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]/[name]Beatrice[/name]
I like these too, maybe a bit of a mouthful:
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name]/[name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Georgina[/name]/[name]Georgiana[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Virginia[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Augusta[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
just not fond of [name]Blair[/name] or [name]Michael[/name] on a girl.
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Blair[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Michael[/name]
I find this a big awkward to say:
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Reed[/name]
I think I’d give a middle name as you intend [name]Mary[/name] ___ to be her first name. I would hyphenate to make it plain that it’s the whole first name - some people don’t like hyphens. I just don’t like the capital in the middle thing - like MaryCate.
are you open to [name]Marie[/name] as a variation of [name]Mary[/name]? I know a girl names [name]Marie[/name]-[name]Elena[/name] (sounds like marie uh-lay-nuh). I always thought it flowed beautifully and sounds so feminine. Good luck!!
My name is [name]Mary[/name] [name]Claire[/name] so that is of course my favorite out of your list : ) I’ve always really liked my name, and am a fan of double names. [name]Mary[/name] is my first name, and [name]Claire[/name] is my middle. Speaking from experience, I have always been called by both but have had instances where I was called “[name]Mary[/name]” and hated it …like the first day of school and at the doctors office. Thankfully when I was younger, my mom really enforced people calling me by both names so the “[name]Mary[/name]” thing wasn’t an everyday issue, you know?
Another thing to think about (and I know this is kind of thinking way ahead but I am also a huge monogram person) is the initials. I have always had the initials “MC” and am even called that by many family and friends as a nn. When I got married, I decided to drop my maiden name completely so my initials would still be MC. I didn’t want to make [name]Mary[/name] [name]Claire[/name] my first name because my initials would be different and I felt that I wouldn’t be “MC” anymore. The only thing that changed with my initials is my last name initial and I felt it was the best choice for me personally. I used to babysit a little girl named AnnaClaire as her first name and she had a middle name. Her initials always looked weird to me bc they weren’t “AC” like you would expect. They were A+her middle name initial+her last name initial. I always thought this would be confusing to people who would want to give her monogrammed gifts. I do know people who have a double name and are now married who have four initials. [name]IMO[/name] four initials look uneven when monogrammed with the last name initial bigger in the middle so it’s just NMS.
I love [name]Mary[/name] double barreled names! Whether you use [name]Mary[/name] ___ as a first name and your maiden name as the middle, I think is totally your choice and what your gut tells you to do. I don’t think either way is right or wrong and whatever you decide will be perfect. Good [name]Luck[/name]!
I love [name]Mary[/name] [name]Shea[/name]!
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] is pretty, but I think it would be tougher to ensure people keep both names and dont shorten it down to [name]Mary[/name].
This is my kind of thread. We have contemplated this issue for years. My name is [name]Marianne[/name], my daughter’s name is [name]Annemarie[/name]. That would be another option…make it one word…Mariclaire, [name]Maribeth[/name], [name]Maryjane[/name]…not my favorite for all of those combos, but another option for you.
I gave [name]Annemarie[/name] my maiden name as a middle, but I don’t think that’s necessary at all if you are spelling the two first names separately.
If we had gone with [name]Mary[/name] Something, and we almost did, it would have been 2 words, no other middle name. Keep it simple. No need to complicate someone’s name.
I like [name]Mary[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]. And a dear friend of mine is [name]Mary[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name], which is sort of awesome.
Honestly my favourite [name]Mary[/name]-double names are the ones that, like ohiom mentioned, are outright smushed. [name]Rosemary[/name]/[name]Rosemarie[/name], [name]Marigold[/name], [name]Marianne[/name], etc.
I had considered [name]Annmarie[/name] too, but was worried my mother-in-law would be upset, since that is my mother’s name!
We decided NOT to do a second middle name and our three top choices are:
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Virginia[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Shea[/name]
Our last name is a two syllable “W” last name. Of these three, which do you like best? The first two have the most significance to us as a couple (both are our grandmothers’ names, we each have a grandmother with the name “[name]Mary[/name]”, me [name]Mary[/name] [name]Virginia[/name], him [name]Mary[/name] [name]Ellen[/name] and we each have a grandmother with the name [name]Beatrice[/name]. I like [name]Beatrix[/name] best. [name]Shea[/name] is a family name/name of of my grandmother.
I know a little girl named [name]Mary[/name] [name]Claire[/name] and I think it’s the prettiest name. I also love [name]Mary[/name] [name]Alice[/name].
