Masculine girls name......anyone?

Hello I am 20 weeks preg (not finding out the sex) and cannot find ANYTHING (girl) that my DH has said more than maybe to. I am at the point that I am suggesting names that I don’t love just to see if I can get some sort of reaction other than “Hmm… Maybe I mean it’s okay…” our boys name is [name]Henry[/name] [name]Jon[/name] a combo of our fathers middle names. I love [name]Henry[/name] although it has become way too popular for me I love that connection and DH LOVES the name and will not consider anything else. we also have a daughter Kameryn. I want something that will compliment her name but I do not want a theme at all. I want each child to be an indavidual. Also I am no longer into the unique spelling.
I have posted several time asking for opinions on my top girl names and I know that most berries are not fond of the masculine names but I just can’t believe I am the only berrie who is. Please help me find something other than what I have been reading over and over.

Our girls list:
[name]Madden[/name] Harvest - I am not dead set on the combo but he really likes Harvest and I love [name]Madden[/name].
[name]Presley[/name]- no middle name yet [name]Marie[/name] is our go to middle name (both our mothers middle names) but [name]Presley[/name] [name]Marie[/name] really???
[name]Shiloh[/name] - I am not drooling over the name and dont like the [name]Jolie[/name] [name]Pitt[/name] association but he said oow that’s not bad so I’m keeping it on my list nn Loh?
[name]Layla[/name] [name]Marie[/name] or Harvest - too popular for me but DH thinks its cute so… Maybe
[name]Etta[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] or [name]Marie[/name] - love love love but not enought of a name for me so again… Maybe
[name]Finley[/name] [name]Marie[/name] - I loved this prior preg and now I just like a lot.
[name]Jolie[/name] [name]Marie[/name] - one of our faves it has a family connection but I know a 3 yr old [name]Jolie[/name] and have a couple ppl in our fam who would like to use this someday and I am not into name stealing .
[name]Mabel[/name] - he suggested I like but do picture the baby inside me as a [name]Mabel[/name] .

Please help!!! I am looking for new suggestions and comments on what we have. If you hate the idea of masculine names which is mainly my style then please don’t try to talk me out of it. That’s not what I am looking for. I have read just about every list imaginable and feel like I am ready the same classic feminine names. I don’t like common and I’m getting burnt out from [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name], [name]Sophia[/name]… which I do love but for someone else, not me. Thank you !!

My thoughts on your list:
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Etta[/name], especially paired with [name]Josephine[/name]. This is a real winner!!
I Like: [name]Mabel[/name], [name]Layla[/name]…both really cute.
I think they’re okay: [name]Finley[/name], [name]Jolie[/name] (I prefer [name]Joelle[/name]).
I don’t like: [name]Madden[/name] (she’ll be mistaken for that crowd of Maddies!), [name]Presley[/name] (too much [name]Elvis[/name], plus I know a girl by this name, and she gets teased so much about that [name]Elvis[/name] thing that she insists on going my her middle name, [name]Twila[/name]…and she’s only 7!), and [name]Shiloh[/name].

Are you looking for masculine girls names? Or unisex names? Or just something not too over-done?

“Masculine” names that could suit a girl:

  • [name]Hunter[/name]…not my taste, but I know a girl of about 10 named [name]Hunter[/name], and she wears it very well. She is smart and pretty.
  • [name]Spencer[/name]
  • [name]Blake[/name]
  • [name]Chase[/name]…again, not my style at all, but I knew a little girl, aged 4, named [name]Chase[/name] and it suited her.
  • [name]Charlie[/name]

Girls names/unisex names that aren’t girly:

  • [name]Sloane[/name]
  • [name]Greer[/name]
  • [name]Shae[/name]
  • [name]Avery[/name]
  • [name]Morgan[/name]
  • [name]Rowan[/name]
  • [name]Reese[/name]

Names that I don’t think are prissy/girly, but that ARE unquestionable girls’ names (and that aren’t too over-done!):

  • [name]Tess[/name]/[name]Tessa[/name]
  • [name]Claire[/name] - my own name…I like that it’s simple with no nickname, and isn’t frilly.
  • [name]Bridget[/name]
  • [name]Maren[/name]…my cousin’s name, she loves it for the same reasons I love my own name. Plus, it’s a little different. Her name is spelled “[name]Merryn[/name]” though
  • [name]Erin[/name]…not over-used at all these days, and definitely not frilly, in my opinion anyway
  • [name]Willa[/name]

I hope this helps, and that I haven’t misunderstood what you were asking for.

Of your list I like:
[name]Layla[/name], [name]Shiloh[/name], [name]Jolie[/name].

[name]Maren[/name]/[name]Marin[/name] is a good suggestion from the PP. So it [name]Erin[/name].

Other ideas:
[name]Mikayla[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Brooke[/name]
[name]Kelsey[/name]
[name]Sage[/name], I know a lot of people are fond of. I don’t like it at all personally on girls, but perhaps you would.
[name]Alison[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Darlene[/name]
[name]Andrea[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name]
[name]Dawn[/name]
[name]Geneva[/name]
[name]Kerensa[/name]
[name]Karen[/name]
[name]Helen[/name]/[name]Helena[/name]
[name]Nicole[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name]
[name]Zoey[/name]
[name]Erica[/name]/[name]Erika[/name]/[name]Ericka[/name]
[name]Roxane[/name] nn [name]Roxy[/name]

[name]Hi[/name]! I like the idea of using masculine names for girls, but the names are usually on the softer side.
[name]Madden[/name] and [name]Presley[/name] are too hard for me. [name]Shiloh[/name] does make me think of the [name]Jolie[/name]-[name]Pitt[/name]'s too. [name]Etta[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is nice, better than [name]Etta[/name] [name]Marie[/name]. [name]Finley[/name] [name]Marie[/name] is by far the best name [name]IMO[/name]. [name]Mabel[/name] sounds like an old lady or a cow (sorry).

Okay, so it looks like Harvest, [name]Marie[/name], and [name]Josephine[/name] are the suggested MN. [name]Do[/name] you have any other names that could work are MN? Since [name]Marie[/name] is the go to I’ll use that in my suggestions.

[name]Sinclair[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Connelly[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Delaney[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Hanan[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
Carrington [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Auden[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Lachlan[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Cillian[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Rue[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Ceylon[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Cyrus[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Ara[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Amari[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Rhys[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Torin[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Bryce[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]

Idk if any of those would work. But I think they sound nice.

[name]Hi[/name] – Well, I like masculine names for girls and so my first suggestion would be my own daughter’s name:

[name]Rory[/name]

[name]Rory[/name] is a name – in the UK a boys’ name but in the US used equally for both sexes – it its own right and does not need to be lengthened or changed into anything else. I do think both [name]Shiloh[/name] and [name]Jolie[/name] have very strong Brangelina associations. And [name]Madden[/name] to me is football video games – so macho and then, yes, shortened to the oh-so-ordinary [name]Maddy[/name]. So I think you can do better.

Have you clicked on the Unisex Names tab on our home page? https://nameberry.com/search/unisex_names This will give you THOUSANDS of ideas.

Some other thoughts of names in this style you might like and that would work well with Kameryn. I’ll repeat a few of the earlier excellent ideas:

[name]Amory[/name]
[name]Ashby[/name]
[name]Brinley[/name]
[name]Delaney[/name]
[name]Devon[/name]
[name]Domino[/name]
[name]Dylan[/name]
[name]Elliot[/name]
[name]Flannery[/name]
[name]Gardener[/name]
[name]Hartley[/name]
[name]Haven[/name]
[name]Hollis[/name]
[name]Indigo[/name]
[name]Jensen[/name]
[name]Juniper[/name]
[name]Marlow[/name]
[name]Mirren[/name]
Merrit
[name]Norris[/name]
[name]Oakley[/name]
[name]Raleigh[/name]
[name]Remi[/name]
[name]Romy[/name]
[name]Quinn[/name]
[name]Sheridan[/name]
[name]Sierra[/name]
[name]Teagan[/name]
[name]Tiernan[/name]

Let us know what you think. And if he just grunts in response to all those, send him over to my house for a lecture.

[name]One[/name] more: [name]Nico[/name].

I really like [name]Shiloh[/name]! I think that would be a good choice. [name]Finley[/name] and [name]Layla[/name] are alright too, although I prefer the spelling [name]Leila[/name]. I was going to suggest [name]Camryn[/name], but I see you already have a variation of that. Here are some other masculine ones that aren’t horribly popular:

[name]Sterling[/name]
[name]Ryan[/name]
[name]Carson[/name]
[name]Mason[/name] (I don’t like it for a girl but I do know a girl with this name)
[name]Reese[/name] ([name]Rhys[/name] is masculine)
[name]Micah[/name]
[name]Alexandra[/name], with [name]Alex[/name] as a masculine/unisex nickname
[name]Cassidy[/name]
[name]Quinn[/name]
[name]Casey[/name]
[name]Laken[/name]

[name]Madden[/name] makes me think of maddening, as in something driving you crazy/mad
From you list I like [name]Layla[/name] and [name]Etta[/name], but not sure they go with Kameryn. [name]Don[/name]'t like [name]Finley[/name] but it work’s with big sis’s name

My favorite “masculine” girl names are legit female or unisex names but I think most would think they were boy names
[name]Wallis[/name]
[name]Deryn[/name]
[name]Garland[/name]
[name]Dorian[/name]
[name]Hollis[/name]
[name]Linden[/name]
[name]Idris[/name]
[name]Merritt[/name]
[name]Dalis[/name]

[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Etta[/name] [name]Josephine[/name], it’s adorable, and you can always call her [name]Jo[/name] or [name]Josie[/name] as a nickname.
LIKE [name]Presley[/name] and [name]Jolie[/name]. [name]Both[/name] are on my list, [name]Presley[/name] with mn [name]Eloise[/name] (not sure if you like that) and [name]Jolie[/name] as a middle name (I love the meaning of pretty in french, but not the association with [name]Angelina[/name] [name]Jolie[/name] which she would always get with it as a fn).

More masculine/unisex names I like (ignore repeats):
[name]Austen[/name]
[name]Emerson[/name]
[name]Sutton[/name]
[name]Arden[/name]
[name]Tallin[/name]
[name]Ellison[/name]
[name]Mercer[/name]
[name]Madigan[/name]
[name]Aspen[/name]
[name]Fallon[/name]
[name]Teagan[/name]
[name]Tatum[/name]
[name]Ashby[/name]
[name]Jean[/name]
[name]Spencer[/name]
[name]Tyler[/name]
[name]Mikah[/name]
[name]Riley[/name]
[name]Tristan[/name]
[name]Stanton[/name]
[name]Peyton[/name]

I love all of these names!! I love [name]Quinn[/name], [name]Finnley[/name], [name]Shiloh[/name]… your list is fabulous. Also love [name]Elliot[/name], as [name]Pam[/name] said.

A name I’m thinking of (and have been a lot lately) for a girl, is [name]Felix[/name]. Good luck in whatever you decide!! You’ve gotten some great suggestions so far

Many great suggestions already. Also [name]Drew[/name], Shaunessy, Avonlea (AV-en-lee) as in ‘[name]Anne[/name] of’, [name]Jordan[/name], [name]Ryan/name, [name]Camden[/name], [name]Gentry[/name], and I second [name]Arden[/name], [name]Reese[/name], [name]Nico[/name] (or [name]Nicola[/name] with that as a nn) and [name]Devon[/name].

My favorites on your list are [name]Layla[/name] and [name]Shiloh[/name]. I also really like [name]Darby[/name] and [name]Casper[/name] for girls.

I had to laugh at your comment " if he groans in response send him over" because I have been reading him my favorites for these lists and he has been saying hmmm ! I think I may be naming this baby on my own! I am very aware that [name]Madden[/name] will most likely be [name]Maddy[/name] that is a big no for me. I’ll be the crazy mom correcting people all the time “she is [name]MADDEN[/name] not [name]Maddy[/name]!” From your list I love [name]Hartley[/name], [name]Haven[/name], and [name]Juniper[/name] Thank you for the suggestions!!

Thank you I love to hear that another berrie has similar taste! I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Felix[/name] for a girl! I am laughing because I just said to my DH " [name]Felix[/name] for a girl isn’t that so cute!!" he said yeah the I ask “so you like it!?” his reply: “oh, no.” lol what am I going to do with him!

[name]One[/name] of the very few boy names I like on girls more is [name]Leighton[/name]… just throwing that one out there!

I have to laugh at your comment because I just suggested a few from your list and he said hmmm. I told him I’m going to hit him over the head with the iPad! I guess I’ll name the baby in my own

Thank you I love all the suggestions! [name]Roe[/name] I love. [name]Monroe[/name] nn [name]Roe[/name] is one of my fav fav but [name]Mariah[/name] ruined that for me. [name]Hartley[/name] is cute too but of course he is not jumping out of his seat on anything. To answer a few questions, I am not necessarily looking for unisex names just names that are different and not the classic girls names that I’ve been seeing. Although I am a fan of many. Oh and thank you for the [name]Presley[/name] comment about [name]Elvis[/name] teasing I did not think about that I may have to move [name]Presley[/name] down a few notches… Although I do love it!

[name]How[/name] about [name]Hadley[/name]? I have [name]Mika[/name] and [name]Hadley[/name] on my list for girls…

Hey glad to meet someone who has similar styling too!! I’m not too surprised he didn’t like [name]Felix[/name]… the initial reaction does not seem to be positive for people who like more traditional names. I don’t care though because I love it! You guys will find something awesome, I’m sure!

Also… names might start to grow on him, you know? My other fave name, [name]Harper[/name], was a no-no with my husband a couple of months ago, and now it’s growing on him. Sometimes if you hear the name out loud a few times it starts to sound like it belongs and you can really see a child with it.
