I finally have some input from my boyfriend. Not a lot of input but some. When he starts discussing names its like a miracle. He wants masculine type names. And I like different, unusual, handsome yet usable. Most of my names have been vetoed.
None are jumping out at me that I can picture naming a son. If I had to choose one I would pick [name]Archer[/name] but fearful people would call him [name]Archie[/name] for short. I am really anti nicknames sometimes. Unless the nickname has a certain vibe or feel to it.
[name]Jack[/name] and [name]Max[/name] are probably the two most masculine names out there, [name]IMO[/name], and don’t lend themselves to nicknames. Although they aren’t unusual either.
I also second [name]Archer[/name] and I don’t think it’ll automatically be shortened to [name]Archie[/name].
Thank you for all the input, I myself have no idea what he means by masculine or what he wants in a name. Probably the most frustrating thing ever. From every ones list the names I like most and think he would like are: [name]Saxon[/name] [name]Forest[/name] [name]Finn[/name] [name]Flynn[/name]- I love [name]Flynn[/name] I don’t know if he would go for it. [name]Porter[/name] [name]Cyrus[/name] [name]Silas[/name] [name]Arden[/name] [name]Archer[/name]- Still worried about the nn [name]Archie[/name]. [name]Stellan[/name]
I really like [name]Silas[/name] or [name]Cyrus[/name] but our last name begins with SCH and makes the sound of SH. The transition does not work well, what do you guys think? [name]May[/name] just be me.
[name]Ive[/name] never seen the big deal in the sounds of the first and last name merging or sounding similiar- you could merge any names if you say them fast enough…
my top boy name is [name]Cormac[/name] and our last names is similar to [name]Crosby[/name]…
Yep that’s a mouthful. Altho I think Cyrus is to much Silas to me still flows well. I think having last letter with s causes a pause. Up to you if it bugs enough I’d scrap it
