We recently had our third daughter and I am beginning to question her name choice. Our two oldest daughters are [name_u]Allison[/name_u] ([name_u]Allie[/name_u], [name_m]Al[/name_m] for short) and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] ([name_f]Livie[/name_f],[name_f]Liv[/name_f] for short). We named our third daughter [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] but plan on calling her [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] or [name_f]Tess[/name_f]. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you feel Our third daughters name goes well with the first two?

Absolutely! I like the combo of [name_u]Allie[/name_u], [name_f]Liv[/name_f], and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] very much. I’m a little biased – [name_f]Tess[/name_f] is a favorite name of mine – but I think it’s the right combination of sweet and strong to go well with her sisters.

What is it that’s making you feel that it may not be quite right?

Thanks for your feedback! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I had a difficult time agreeing on a name. I have always liked the name [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] but imagined we would use another vowel name. The only vowel name we agreed on was [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and I decided against it because I thought if she ended up being called [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] it might be to similar to [name_u]Allie[/name_u]. Now looking back I think if we would have reinforced that it was [name_f]Ella[/name_f] for short it wouldn’t have been a issue. I guess I’m worried [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] might feel like her name doesn’t go with her sisters.

This is a lovely sibset, classic names with sweet, simple nicknames.

Interesting, carob! I didn’t notice at all that the first two names began with vowels and the third one didn’t. I just noticed the feeling and style of the names. I think you’ve got a winner with [name_f]Tess[/name_f]!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] a thought, if you’re considering a switch. Using [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] consistently as a nickname would get that in people’s heads, absolutely, and eliminate potential [name_u]Allie[/name_u]/[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] confusion. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is also a nickname for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] that goes with the vibe of your other girls’ names.

I think they sound beautiful together. I didn’t notice any difference, I think you are in the clear.

I think they are perfect together! [name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_u]Allison[/name_u] - I sometimes go by [name_u]Allie[/name_u] and rarely by [name_m]Al[/name_m], but I think [name_f]Livie[/name_f]/[name_f]Liv[/name_f] & [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]/[name_f]Tess[/name_f] are perfect sibling names! You’ve got an amazing sibset! [name_u]Allison[/name_u], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] & [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] all have lovely names! I adore [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]/[name_f]Tess[/name_f]!

[name_m]Al[/name_m], [name_f]Liv[/name_f] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] are great. [name_m]Al[/name_m] is the first born and her nickname is the shortest, [name_f]Liv[/name_f] is the second born and little longer. [name_f]Tess[/name_f] is the youngest and her name has the most letters. Plus all of those names have the upside of 1 syllable.

I think [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] / [name_f]Tess[/name_f] is perfect with sisters [name_u]Allison[/name_u] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]. If any name stands out I’d say it’s [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], but not too much.
