Matilda & Freya - some issues; looking for thoughts

Looking for general thoughts on some of the issues I’m having about [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f], and maybe suggestions!

[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] - I like the name itself, I like how it goes with [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] as a combo, but it feels like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] would get nicknamed quite a bit. I wouldn’t stop it if it happens naturally, but I’m not into nicknames for the most part. All of my other favorite names currently either don’t have an obvious nickname or are compact enough that it’s unlikely people would shorten them. Second worry is that [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] feels more classic/traditional than my other first names? It isn’t a common name in the US but it seems to have a different vibe than the other favorites.

[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - The issue I have with [name_f]Freya[/name_f] is a middle name one. Sometimes I like it with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], sometimes it doesn’t feel right. Objectively, I always find [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] lovely, but not always with [name_f]Freya[/name_f] itself. I can’t seem to find a middle name that seems solid.

[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] - [name_f]Tilda[/name_f], [name_f]Maddy[/name_f], [name_f]Ida[/name_f]…

[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Blossom[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] fits just fine with your list, but I do agree it would more than likely be nicknamed. It might not though. It’s rather hard to tell.

My name is [name_u]Haley[/name_u] - short and sweet, and no need for a nickname - which is why my mother picked it. However, growing up, my name was shortened to Hail/Hails more times than I can count. To start with my mom corrected everyone, but once I reached school-age, if my friends were calling me it, then that was up to me to stop. It stuck right until college, but even now I have at least one friend who calls me it from time to time. But, my sister’s name [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f] was nicknamed when she was born and yet, when she started school, everyone called her [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f] until she brought up her nickname.

I used to have [name_f]Freya[/name_f] on my list (it still comes and goes sometimes) and I considered these:

[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Emily[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_u]Madison[/name_u]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Jessica[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]

Thanks for feedback everyone! I’m going to sit on this for a while longer I think.
