Hello Berries! I have settled on [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] for a baby girl’s name and I have always been decided on using my mother’s name, [name_f]Melanie[/name_f], in the middle spot. I have, however, come to find that [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] just sounds a little silly, but I love the name [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] so much and it has taken such a long time to settle on it. It would break my heart not to honour my mother, so someone suggested getting a second middle name to separate [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Melanie[/name_f]. I love “[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f]” and “[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f]”, but I’m not sure whether they flow very well. I love the appearance of “[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f]”… Please can you help me settle on the full name and/or give your opinion? A big thank you! <3
I love [name_f]Iris[/name_f], I don’t know if it flows well with with [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], but it’s gorgeous. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is also great, but I don’t think it works with [name_f]Melanie[/name_f], because of the ‘e’ sound at the end. And then there’s [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], which I also like, but I don’t think that flows either.
Either way, it isn’t going to flow, so I’d go with [name_f]Iris[/name_f].
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is my favorite combo, but [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] doesn’t flow so well in my opinion. [name_f]My[/name_f] second choice would be [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f]. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] is nice. What about [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_u]Mel[/name_u]?
I agree that [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] works! I actually like the alliteration. Out of those options, I like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] best. I think it’s very pretty. I think [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] flows best though, imo, if that matters to you most!
For what it’s worth, I love [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f]. I like the flow, the alliteration, and the stylistic balance of the two names. Overall I think it sounds strong but sweet and fun. I prefer it to any of the double-middle options. That being said, I do think the other middle names you’ve chosen are lovely! Independently, I like [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]; as a combo, I think [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] flows best.
I would go with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is kind of an older name, as are [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]. The middle name [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] would give [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] a modern touch.
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] is my favourite but I think all three of your options would work well, and I even like just [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f], but I think just [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] works fine too.
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] sounds best in my opinion. Second choice would be [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f].
I don’t think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] works.
I vote for [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f]. But I also want to say that I don’t think [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] sounds wonderful and not silly.
I think [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] flows just fine! I would say that [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] flows best.
You could also consider using [name_u]Lane[/name_u] to honor [name_f]Melanie[/name_f]. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u] would be so pretty!
