Matilda nn Mia?

[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is a name that is growing on me alot these days. I have always loved the name, I have not thought about it until recently. I have also loved the name [name_f]Mia[/name_f] but dislike the shortness of the name.

Q1 - What are your opinions/thoughts on the name, [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]? What vibe does it give?
Q2 - Does [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] work to get the NN [name_f]Mia[/name_f]?
Q3 - If so what middle names would you suggest? [name_m]Link[/name_m] to my Girls name list is in signature (the work ‘Girls’ is the link.). What is your opinion on [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]?
Q4 - If [name_f]Mia[/name_f] can’t work for this then what other names could get to [name_f]Mia[/name_f]? Besides [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]/[name_f]Mila[/name_f].

Thank you for your help

Q1 - What are your opinions/thoughts on the name, [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]? What vibe does it give?

I like it! I consider it a vintage name, but not super duper old. More like it reminds me of the 1940’s or thereabouts. I think it’s easily wearable in this day and age, and it makes for a cute name that would age well.

Q2 - Does [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] work to get the NN [name_f]Mia[/name_f]?

Eh, I guess I could see where you got it, but I don’t really like using nicknames that stretch this far in most cases. Unfortunately I’m a no-fun nicknamer, so I’d probably go with something basic like [name_f]Tilda[/name_f] or [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] enough on its own though that I don’t think I’d want to call her by a nickname.

Q3 - If so what middle names would you suggest? [name_m]Link[/name_m] to my Girls name list is in signature (the work ‘Girls’ is the link.). What is your opinion on [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]?

[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] sounds alright, but not perfect. From your list, I think the best pairings are [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] (even though it’s [name_f]Roxana[/name_f] on your list…)

Q4 - If [name_f]Mia[/name_f] can’t work for this then what other names could get to [name_f]Mia[/name_f]? Besides [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]/[name_f]Mila[/name_f].

[name_f]Amalia[/name_f] from your girls’ list fits the bill, I think. [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], [name_f]Camille[/name_f]/[name_f]Camilla[/name_f], [name_f]Cosima[/name_f], [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], [name_f]Demetria[/name_f], [name_f]Olympia[/name_f]… I feel like some of these are a stretch, but if they work for you, by all means, use them!

Thank you.
I like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f].

Q1 - What are your opinions/thoughts on the name, [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]? What vibe does it give?
I feel neutral about [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. I picture a girl/woman that has some spunk but seems a bit stuffy at times.

Q2 - Does [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] work to get the NN [name_f]Mia[/name_f]?
I think [name_f]Mia[/name_f] works as a nickname. Personally I prefer [name_f]Mia[/name_f], as a stand-alone name, over [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. Same with [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]/[name_f]Tillie[/name_f].

Q3 - If so what middle names would you suggest? [name_m]Link[/name_m] to my Girls name list is in signature (the work ‘Girls’ is the link.). What is your opinion on [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]?
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] also comes across as a bit stuffy to me, so the combo seems a bit too much.

[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]/[name_u]Clare[/name_u]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]

[name_f]Mia[/name_f] [name_f]Harlow[/name_f]
[name_f]Mia[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_f]Mia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Mia[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Mia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]

Q4 - If [name_f]Mia[/name_f] can’t work for this then what other names could get to [name_f]Mia[/name_f]? Besides [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]/[name_f]Mila[/name_f].
As I said above, I would use [name_f]Mia[/name_f] as a stand-alone.

Thank you
I asked my partner and he prefers [name_f]Mia[/name_f] as a stand alone name.

Q1 - I love it. Strong willed, spunky, independent, sassy, sweet…anything.
Q2 - sure.
Q3 - [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is great. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t have a chance to check your link, but I’ll throw out [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]…
Q4 - [name_f]Marilla[/name_f], [name_f]Marina[/name_f], [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], [name_f]Mirabel[/name_f], [name_f]Aminta[/name_f], [name_f]Camila[/name_f], [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], [name_f]Milena[/name_f], [name_f]Minerva[/name_f], [name_f]Merida[/name_f]…?

[name_f]Mia[/name_f] is very popular. [name_m]Just[/name_m] be aware of that

It’s too much of a stretch

Thank you
I like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u].

I think [name_f]Mia[/name_f] would work, and she could also choose to go by [name_u]Matty[/name_u] or [name_u]Mat[/name_u] when she’s older it she wants to.

Q1 - I love it! [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is very cute but would still work on a grown-up woman and other ages in-between.
Q2 - I think [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mia[/name_f] works, although my favourite nickname for [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is [name_f]Tilly[/name_f].
Q3 - I love [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. It flows really well. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is good too, although I’m not really a fan of the vowel-ending & vowel-beginning combo (Matild’a’ 'E’vangeline).
Q4 - Other names with the nn [name_f]Mia[/name_f]: [name_f]Maria[/name_f]/[name_f]Mariah[/name_f], Miabella, [name_f]Olympia[/name_f], [name_f]Miata[/name_f], [name_f]Damiana[/name_f], [name_f]Charmian[/name_f]. These are just a few…there are so many possibilities!

Thank you

  1. I feel like I must be the only [name_u]Berry[/name_u] that dislikes [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], so I wish I could like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], but it just feels so clunky and harsh. I much prefer the Mad- names. Like [name_f]Maddalena[/name_f], [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], [name_f]Madelief[/name_f], [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f].

  2. I think so. :). I’m seriously considering [name_f]Maddalena[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mia[/name_f], and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] has more in common with [name_f]Mia[/name_f] than [name_f]Maddalena[/name_f].

  3. I don’t like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], for some reason. I do like [name_f]Mia[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], or [name_f]Amalia[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], or even [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mia[/name_f]. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], maybe? [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]?

  4. I love [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], [name_f]Maria[/name_f], and [name_f]Maddalena[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mia[/name_f]. Otherwise, I don’t know if I’d be adding any novel suggestions haha.

Good luck!
