Can you tell me which name you prefer between [name_m]Matteo[/name_m] (ma-tay-oh) and [name_m]Matthias[/name_m] (mah-tee-us)
Also while we’re on the subject would you mind telling me which ones out of these you prefer too.
[name_u]Carson[/name_u] or [name_u]Carter[/name_u]
[name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] or Thelonios
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] or [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]
[name_m]Casimir[/name_m] or [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] or [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]
That is a hard question. I think I slightly prefer [name_m]Matthias[/name_m].
[name_u]Carson[/name_u] or [name_u]Carter[/name_u] - like equally
[name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m]
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]
[name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] - although I prefer [name_m]Maxim[/name_m] over [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m]
[name_m]Xavier[/name_m]
I always pronounced [name_m]Mattias[/name_m] as Mah-TIE-us, not tee. But I guess it is actually pronounced both ways?
I prefer it that one over [name_m]Matteo[/name_m] but I love them both, huge fans of those names.
[name_m]Matthias[/name_m]! I like [name_m]Matteo[/name_m]/[name_m]Mateo[/name_m] a lot, but I love [name_m]Matthias[/name_m], and I wish it was used more here in the US! From the other pairs, I like:
[name_u]Carson[/name_u] (although I’m not a huge fan of either. I like [name_m]Carsten[/name_m]/[name_u]Karsten[/name_u] much more than [name_u]Carson[/name_u], which isn’t related, but sounds similar)
[name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m]
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m]
[name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] (although I like both, and I don’t really find them similar, unlike other sets?)
[name_m]Xavier[/name_m] (although I like [name_m]Felix[/name_m], too. [name_m]Just[/name_m] not as much as [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]!)
[name_m]Matteo[/name_m], with said pronunciations. I prefer [name_m]Matthias[/name_m] if it is mah-[name_m]TYE[/name_m]-iss or mah-THYE-iss : ) As for the others, it’s a really hard call! You have good taste.
[name_u]Carson[/name_u] {though I also prefer [name_m]Carsten[/name_m]}
[name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m]
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]
[name_m]Casimir[/name_m]
[name_m]Xavier[/name_m]
By the way, I have a feeling you would really like: [name_m]Absalom[/name_m], [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m], [name_m]Philemon[/name_m], [name_m]Balthasar[/name_m], [name_m]Anders[/name_m], [name_m]Melchior[/name_m], [name_m]Pascal[/name_m], [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m], and [name_m]Amias[/name_m].
I grew up with a [name_m]Matthias[/name_m]–my best childhood friend–and he and his family pronounced it Ma-th-I-us (middle syllabol sounds like thigh). I just felt like it might be useful to know that. Out of the two, I really like [name_m]Matteo[/name_m] quite a lot!
[name_m]Matthias[/name_m] for sure. I’ve known quite a few Germans with the name ([name_u]Mat[/name_u]-tee-us). With the name [name_m]Matteo[/name_m], I’ve known a lot of people with a Latino background. I suppose it depends what vibe/culture you’re going for? I prefer [name_m]Matthias[/name_m], though.
