[name]Born[/name] yesterday, [name]Camilla[/name] Alves gave birth to [name]Livingston[/name] Alves McConaughey. Brother to [name]Vida[/name] and [name]Levi[/name].
[name]SAY[/name]. WHAT. [name]Levi[/name] and [name]Vida[/name] go so nicely together… but [name]Livingston[/name]!? Besides the fact that it has nothing in common with the sibs’ style-wise… [name]Levi[/name] and [name]Livingston[/name]? The beginnings are almost identical.
I haven’t been this rattled by a celebrity baby name IN A WHILE.
This just demonstates for me our difficult it can be to choose a name when parents start a pattern. They love the letter “v” so [name]Livingston[/name] fits that pattern. However, the name really doesn’t “fit” with [name]Levi[/name] and [name]Vida[/name]. Kind of disappointing. Something more unusual like [name]Ivo[/name]/[name]Ivor[/name], [name]Sylvan[/name], [name]Paavo[/name], Juvenal, [name]Ludovic[/name], [name]Octavian[/name]/[name]Octavius[/name], [name]Evander[/name], [name]Ovid[/name], [name]Rouvin[/name] or Severn would have been wonderful. Oh well, [name]Livingston[/name] must have some significance for the couple. I know Matthew’s motto is “Just keep livin” so maybe it’s a play on that favourite phrase.
[name]Levi[/name] - anagram for “live”
[name]Vida[/name] - “life” in Portuguese
[name]Livingston[/name] - self-explanatory.
Also, the name seems to fit the “-on” ending Brazillians love so much (I could picture a footballer named this, lol!). I wonder how they’ll call him… [name]Liv[/name]? [name]Ving[/name]?
I’m sorry but it’s too cheesy, naming your kid after a platitude of a personal motto like that. Stony or [name]Stone[/name] as a nickname might make it tolerable (barely).
Wow, ok.
I love [name]Vida[/name], [name]Levi[/name] is alright, but [name]Livingston[/name]? Poor child, not only is it not a very pretty name in my opinion, it doesn’t fit the names of his elder siblings either. That, right there, is bad naming on a very high level.
actually I don’t mind the name itself, I think a kid named [name]Livingston[/name] would be cute. But [name]Livingston[/name] and [name]Levi[/name] are too similar for me, in fact [name]Levi[/name] almost seems like it could be a nickname for [name]Livingston[/name]…
Wow… You guys are harsh, haha! I agree it doesn’t really work in the sibset, but the name itself isn’t that bad and it fits with the trend of surname firstnames - [name]Sawyer[/name], [name]Bennett[/name], etc. I will say that [name]Livingston[/name] McConaughey is a mouthful.
Actually I like it, though I don’t think I’d have the guts to use [name]Livingston[/name] myself unless perhaps it was a family surname (which it might be for this couple, who knows?) I agree it doesn’t match his siblings’ names well, especially when you see it next to [name]Levi[/name], but taken by itself I like it. It could sound scholarly (Dr. [name]Livingstone[/name], anyone?), and it fits the surname trend while being quite unusual. And a couple years back I thought the name [name]Livingston[/name]/[name]Livingstone[/name] (containing the words “living stone”) could be a cool reference to 1 [name]Peter[/name] 2. And hey, I also love [name]Livingstone[/name] daisies.
[name]Livingston[/name] is interesting (though I still think of “Dr. [name]Livingston[/name], I presume…”) but it’s soo similar to [name]Levi[/name]. That’s my only issue with it. If I say [name]Levi[/name] and [name]Livingston[/name] quickly they start to sound like the same name. Oh wel, congrats to them.
[name]Levi[/name] & [name]Vida[/name] blur together for me personally more so than [name]Levi[/name] & [name]Livingston[/name] do. Like some have said, I don’t see [name]Livingston[/name] as the best fit with the siblings’ names, but they do all have the “vi” syllable & I find their love-of-life thing is endearing. I bet the baby’ll get a cute nickname, and me, I’d always take unusual [name]Livingston[/name] over well-established [name]Logan[/name], [name]Landon[/name], etc.
