What do you think of Mattilyn?
To me it seems very American, in the same way that [name_u]Madison[/name_u] does. I’m not really a fan on [name_u]Madison[/name_u], [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f], [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] ect. but I actually quite like Mattilyn. It sort of reminds me of [name_f]Natalie[/name_f].
What do you think,
Thanks,
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] xx
It is not “all american” like [name_u]Madison[/name_u]. [name_u]Madison[/name_u] Avenue and particularly [name_u]Madison[/name_u] Square Garden are landmarks in [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m], so the name is all-american for different reasons.
I can definitely see the appeal, but I also see why everyone isn’t on board.
It does have a pretty sound and the nickname [name_u]Mattie[/name_u] is precious. It’s just so trendy and predicable.
Personally I prefer [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], but I can see how someone would like Mattilyn.
Why? Aloud, I don’t think it’s even distinguishable from [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f], etc. it’s just another yooneek spelling. I don’t see the appeal at all.
[name_u]Mattie[/name_u] by itself would be fine, but Mattilyn reminds me of Matalan, the chain of shops. And also, I hate the -lyn ending on pretty much every name, so I’m biased anyway.
