Maureen!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to throw it out there. If I weren’t named [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] I would want this name for my own daughter (of course, no one blinks at a [name_m]Jr[/name_m] for a guy, but somehow I don’t think that extends to we ladies!). Classic, unusual, cool - -and has the vintage vibe that is so big now. I absolutely love and appreciate my name, as well as its fun nickname “[name_u]Mo[/name_u].”

Mamas to be, take note! There’s my pitch

That is my favorite aunt’s name and we also call her [name_u]Mo[/name_u]. It’s a cool name, I agree!

My grandmas name and she is also called [name_u]Mo[/name_u]!

My grandmother gave my mother her own name ([name_f]Georgette[/name_f]), so the “[name_m]Jr[/name_m]” thing does in fact extend to ladies!

I love [name_f]Maureen[/name_f]! I actually know plenty of women who have given their names to their daughters, whether it be the exact first name or a variation…so the female [name_m]Jr[/name_m]. thing is a real thing

I like [name_f]Maureen[/name_f] to be honest. I’ve never had a problem with women passing their names down - I like my own name ([name_u]Haley[/name_u]) and the [name_f]Hailey[/name_f]/[name_f]Haylee[/name_f] spelling suits my style perfectly - S/O likes it too, so it’s not totally off the table for us. I rarely get called by my name (S/O never uses it LOL and my parents dont often call me it either - i usually get pet names), so confusion would be minimal.

[name_f]Maureen[/name_f] used to be my #1 when I first got into names. I don’t see a problem passing the name to your daughter, if you love it. I have the same name as my mother and it’s not a problem at all.

I love when mamas give their daughters their name! If I had a classic name I’d definitely consider it but I’m straight out of the 80’s with my name. My aunt named her daughter after herself and one is [name_f]Liz[/name_f] and the other is [name_f]Libby[/name_f] - both short for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and very few people pick up on it.
