I have [name]Max[/name], [name]Rhett[/name] and [name]Olive[/name]. Looking to add to a list for a possible brother or sister. I don’t really want to emphasize the geek chic aspect of [name]Olive[/name] but rather the fresher, fun, spunky part of it. Thanks for any suggestions!
I would use [name]Beau[/name] for sure for another boy. I think it fits perfectly - one syllable, strong, simple and masculine. For a girl, I would go with another nature or color name. [name]Luna[/name], [name]Flora[/name], [name]Saffron[/name], [name]Daisy[/name], [name]Laurel[/name], [name]Juniper[/name]…
Thanks for the reply poptart. I like [name]Beau[/name], I’ll add it to my list. I’d love any other boy recommendations.
Girl names give me fits because I feel like I’m all over the place and I worry about them fitting together. I love my [name]Olive[/name] and her name but I worry I don’t really love anymore names that go with it. While I think other clunky names are great, I just don’t feel like I could ever really use them. Some of my favorites are unisex and more streamlined. [name]Do[/name] any of these fit with [name]Olive[/name] at all or do they sound terrible? [name]Olive[/name] does go by [name]Ollie[/name] a lot of the time but that still seems maybe too vintage unisex instead of modern unisex like some of these others. We also call her [name]Liv[/name] which is more streamlined but neither nn has really stuck yet. Which of these do you think I can add to my list as a possible sister for [name]Max[/name], [name]Rhett[/name] and [name]Olive[/name]?
[name]Piper[/name]
[name]Scout[/name]
[name]Tess[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Romy[/name]
[name]Tatum[/name]
[name]Reese[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Blythe[/name]
More suggestions are welcome! Thanks!
I would stick with one syllable and a unisex name because [name]Olive[/name] is unisex. [name]Tate[/name] would be my favorite. I also like [name]Tess[/name] but the might be a little to feminine. Actually, I really love [name]Olive[/name] and [name]Tess[/name] as sisters! Okay [name]Tess[/name] gets my vote!
From your girl suggestions I like [name]Tess[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name], and [name]Blythe[/name] with [name]Olive[/name], [name]Rhett[/name], and [name]Max[/name]. What about [name]Bryn[/name], [name]Thea[/name], [name]Fleur[/name], [name]Blair[/name], or [name]Cleo[/name]?
For a boy I love the suggestion of [name]Beau[/name] but you also might like

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a boy named [name]Olive[/name]…
In any case, from your list, I like [name]Tess[/name], [name]Reese[/name], [name]Sloane[/name] and [name]Blythe[/name].
Sorry for any repeats…
Boys:
[name]Amos[/name]
[name]Crew[/name]/e
[name]Grant[/name]
[name]Piers[/name]
[name]Royce[/name]

I don’t have many unisex girls names that haven’t been suggested, so here are some others that came to mind:
[name]Paz[/name]
[name]Greer[/name]
[name]Leda[/name]
[name]Pia[/name]
[name]Thora[/name]
I know 3 boys named [name]Oliver[/name] who go by [name]Olive[/name].
Thank you for the suggestions everyone.
@ grace.kasten, that is so interesting! I was kind of wondering why you said it was unisex as I’ve never heard of a boy [name]Olive[/name] either. Kind of cool to hear of boys going by a traditionally female name! I like [name]Tess[/name] too and I agree that it sounds great as a sister to [name]Olive[/name], it’s not my favorite though. It’s there because I do like it, it would honor my [name]MIL[/name] and I feel like it fits best.
@rachel, love your suggestions of [name]Bryn[/name], [name]Blair[/name] and [name]Cleo[/name]! And I love your entire boys list! Thanks!
@rollo, so many great suggestions! A lot I love but can’t really see myself using like [name]Pippa[/name] and [name]Polly[/name]. [name]Fern[/name] is pretty great though and I love [name]Isla[/name], [name]June[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name]. I feel the same about them as I do about [name]Tess[/name]. Very pretty and fit well with [name]Olive[/name] but I I feel like the more streamlined names are more me if that makes any sense. All this is making be feel like I named [name]Olive[/name] the wrong thing! The only boy name from your list that jumps out at me is [name]Miles[/name]. [name]Love[/name] it! Is it too similar to [name]Max[/name] though?
@holbs, I’m so happy to hear that you like [name]Reese[/name] and [name]Sloane[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you really think they sound okay as a sister to [name]Olive[/name]? They’re not too different? I’m afraid someone here might list them in the weirdest sibset category. I love love [name]Grant[/name] and [name]Greer[/name]! Same question with [name]Greer[/name] though, okay with [name]Olive[/name]?
Thanks! More comments are welcome!
I really like your list of girls’ names. I do not think [name]Olive[/name] is Unisex as someone else posted, just not a frilly as [name]Olivia[/name]. The nicknames I have heard for boys named [name]Oliver[/name] is Oli not [name]Olive[/name], but that is just my experience. I left the names from you list I like and added a few more. I would focus more on names you really like rather than making sure the go with [name]Olive[/name]. I kept [name]Tess[/name] because I like that it is a family name and I have met a few little girls with this name who are very sweet.
[name]Piper[/name]
[name]Tess[/name]
[name]Tatum[/name]
[name]Reese[/name]
[name]Sloane[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
&
[name]Peyton[/name] (unisex, but might not be the same genre as [name]Olive[/name])
[name]Kendall[/name]
[name]Lily[/name] (I know twins named [name]Olivia[/name] and [name]Lily[/name] and get called [name]Liv[/name] and [name]Lil[/name])
[name]Gwen[/name]
[name]Bryn[/name]- think [name]Bethany[/name] from the real housewives of NY used this.
[name]Orla[/name]
[name]Jane[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Laura[/name]
[name]Nina[/name]
[name]Tobias[/name]/[name]Toby[/name]
[name]Ewan[/name]
[name]Lucas[/name]/[name]Luca[/name]
[name]Xander[/name]
One of the most fun, spunky girl’s names that I know is [name]Lucy[/name]. I think she would fit in well with her siblings.
[name]Max[/name] and [name]Miles[/name] nah. I like [name]Grant[/name] and [name]Max[/name] though.
What about [name]Beck[/name] for a boy? Does is sound too much like [name]Rhett[/name]?
From the newer suggestions I like [name]Gwen[/name], [name]Lucy[/name] (has to be one of the most universally loved names I think!) and [name]Luca[/name].
I love [name]Beck[/name] for a boy!!! Absolutely love it!! In any other sibset I would suggest [name]Beckett[/name] but I think you should stick with one syllable names.
Thank You grace, anyone else? Is [name]Beck[/name] okay with [name]Rhett[/name]?
Also, kind of surprised no one has said yes to [name]Romy[/name]. I think it’s spunky and goes well with [name]Olive[/name]. Not sure that it’s for me but I think it’s so cute! Thoughts?
I love [name]Olive[/name]! She is on our short list, too. I think both [name]Tess[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name] from your list go well with [name]Olive[/name], though I prefer [name]Phoebe[/name]. And I really like the suggestion of [name]Lucy[/name], as well.
[name]How[/name] about…
[name]Beatrix[/name] (I’m dying to bet my hubs on board with this one)
[name]Romilly[/name] ([name]Romy[/name] or [name]Milly[/name])
[name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]
I think [name]Beck[/name] is great, but to me it’s a name that seems to fit better with uber-cool [name]Cash[/name] than with the handsome [name]Max[/name] and [name]Rhett[/name].
With your set, I like…
[name]Cal[/name]
[name]Levi[/name]
[name]Leo[/name]
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]How[/name] about [name]Sadie[/name]?
In my son’s class at school, there is a boy named [name]Rhett[/name] and a girl name [name]Tara[/name]. Unrelated and we’re in Southern [name]Cal[/name] so doubtful it has any GTTW connections.
Other suggestions
[name]Aubry[/name]
[name]Ashley[/name]
For a boy
[name]Kyle[/name]
@ahappyrobot, those four boy names were already on my list! I like [name]Beatrix[/name] but don’t know if I could ever really use it. I don’t love [name]Romilly[/name] but I do live [name]Romy[/name] by itself, not sure if hubs will go for it though. And I love [name]Phoebe[/name] too, it’s been a favorite for a while. I just love names with a different feel too and can’t decide.
I do like [name]Sadie[/name], gabby, a close friend of mine has one though.
