[name_m]Even[/name_m] though we already have a list of set names, I can’t stop thinking about these three.
[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]- I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] this, but my stepsons name is [name_u]Alex[/name_u] and that is way too similar to [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]/[name_u]Max[/name_u]. If we 90% of the time called him [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] could we get away with an [name_u]Alex[/name_u] and [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] in the same family?
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]- I’ve recently started liking this but I feel like it doesn’t go with my kids name. They feel more modern to me while [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is very vintage. I don’t know if that is actually true but its what it seems like to me. Also I don’t like any of the nicknames.
[name_f]Bryony[/name_f]- Again I feel like it doesn’t go with the kids names and I wonder if its too floral/naturey with [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f].
Can anyone convince me that I’m wrong or do you agree that none of these are really THE name?
I think you’re right about the [name_u]Max[/name_u]/[name_u]Alex[/name_u] issue, but I could see either [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] or [name_f]Bryony[/name_f] fitting in with your sibset. With [name_m]Callum[/name_m], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_u]Easton[/name_u], and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f], I like [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], or [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] and [name_m]Desmond[/name_m] best from your list.
I actually don’t think [name_u]Max[/name_u] and [name_u]Alex[/name_u] are that similar. They only have 1 letter in common.
I agree that [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] seems a little too old-fashioned with your other kids’ names, but [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] might work if you like that variation.
On the other hand, I think [name_f]Bryony[/name_f] could work for you. It’s used so seldom, it doesn’t feel particularly old-fashioned or modern to me. Your other children’s names are kind of the same way - they have history, but they’re uncommon enough to have a freshness about them.
[name_u]Max[/name_u] and [name_u]Alex[/name_u] are sort of similar but I wouldn’t really worry about that one, the full names are different enough. As for [name_f]Bryony[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] they work also quite nicely.
I have a [name_u]Max[/name_u] and an [name_u]Alex[/name_u] in my family (they are cousins around the same age) and it has never been a problem. We also happen to have an [name_f]Alice[/name_f] which should be confusing with [name_u]Alex[/name_u] but isn’t. Sometimes names seem close, but if it’s not for actual siblings it is usually not as big of a deal as we imagine!
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is my favourite next to [name_f]Bryony[/name_f]. And I love [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]. It will never get old to me
I don’t think [name_u]Max[/name_u]/[name_u]Alex[/name_u] is a big problem, only the X makes them seem similar, but I think they are distinct enough to work out fine next to each other.
I like [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and it goes well with your other kids names. If you don’t like any of the nn for it though, that could be a problem. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is bound to get shortened, especially for a young child.
[name_f]Bryony[/name_f] is very cool. I don’t think it sounds too “flowery”, I actually think it works very very well. [name_f]Briony[/name_f] is another spelling of this that I also like.
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and [name_f]Bryony[/name_f] sounds very nice together
[name_u]Max[/name_u] and [name_u]Alex[/name_u] are actually the name of siblings on the hit “Modern Family” so you can more than get away with this sibset. Everytime they say the names on the show no one gets them confused (even me as a viewer).
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is vintage but it is coming back in a big way so I think it will be/ is a “modern throwback”. It is a very rapid riser up the charts.
I’m not fond of [name_f]Bryony[/name_f] though, it isn’t to my taste. Though it would probably go well with your sibset.
I definitely think that [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Bryony[/name_f] would be beautiful in your sibset. They match in perfectly [name_f]IMO[/name_f]!
[name_u]Max[/name_u] is a bit trickier with [name_u]Alex[/name_u], but I agree that [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and [name_u]Alex[/name_u] should be fine.
I don’t think the [name_u]Alex[/name_u]/[name_u]Max[/name_u] thing is a big deal. They end in the same letter, so what? If you were saying [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] I would say no but if you are primarily calling him [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] anyway, I see no problem. I think [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is beautiful in your sibset. It makes me think of the Aristocats which is one of my favorite movies (she was the owner of the cats if you are wondering). I like [name_f]Bryony[/name_f] but I could see people have problems pronouncing it. It fits nice in your sibset but I like [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] more. Maybe you should just take both names to the hospital with you.
Congrats and good luck!
Tbh, I think [name_u]Max[/name_u] and [name_u]Alex[/name_u] are fine together, they only have the last letter in common and if it weren’t such an unusual one I doubt anyone would pick up on it. I also think [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Bryony[/name_f] work fine as well. I see [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] as being vintage, rather than modern and I don’t really attach any time to [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. The same applies to [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Bryony[/name_f], in that order. I also have never seen [name_f]Bryony[/name_f] as a particularly ‘flowery’ name, even though it is, of course, a flower. I also see [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] more as a colour than a flower, so I guess it doubly doesn’t matter?
