Maxwell or just Max

We are loving the name [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] with the nickname [name_m]Max[/name_m]. I personally love [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and am not planning to use it JUST to get to [name_m]Max[/name_m], but I do plan to call him [name_m]Max[/name_m] and I know others will too. This has me torn on whether or not to do [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] or just [name_m]Max[/name_m] as a standalone, what do you think? [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] with the nickname [name_m]Max[/name_m], or [name_m]Max[/name_m] alone?

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and [name_m]Max[/name_m] - I think you canā€™t go wrong with either but I lean slightly towards [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] with the nickname [name_m]Max[/name_m]. I predominantly go by my nickname and my family has called me that for as long as I can remember but professionally I go by my full first name. I think itā€™s great to have that choice and he can choose in what situations he wants to use [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and in what situations he wants to use [name_m]Max[/name_m]!

I honestly like both. Generally prefer shorter more streamlined names especially if that is going to be the more common version you say. But Iā€™d go with whatever flows better with surname.
Good luck!

[name_m]Max[/name_m] is sweet! If you love [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and would use both, I wouldnā€™t sacrifice [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] just for [name_m]Max[/name_m].

If you love [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] I think you should go with it. This way you get to use the name you love, and people will probably automatically shorten to [name_m]Max[/name_m] anyway. Youā€™ll get the best of both that way. Also, [name_m]Max[/name_m] is quite well known as a stand alone name, and I think [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] sets it apart, as itā€™s a little more uncommon.

I personally like just-Max more, but if you love [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] thereā€™s no reason not to use it! [name_m]Plenty[/name_m] of people have longer names that are different from the nickname they use most of the time, and itā€™s perfectly fine.

I prefer [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] :white_heart: this full form makes him a bit more unique as [name_m]Max[/name_m] is a bit too popular atm :sparkles:

Since you like [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] ā€˜Maxā€™, Iā€™d go with [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m], so heā€™s got options (plus [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] is cool)

If youā€™ll call him both Iā€™d say [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]

Iā€™ve never liked [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]. I much prefer just [name_m]Max[/name_m] (or [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] ā€œMaxā€).

[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]. That way you get both. I would expect a [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] to be called [name_m]Max[/name_m] 90% of the time anyway.

[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] for me! Seems like the best compromise.

[name_f]My[/name_f] votes for [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]! (I love the way a double L ending looks in cursive)

I vote [name_m]Max[/name_m]. Short, sweet and quick to learn.

I love [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]! I think itā€™s the best of both worlds because you can call him both [name_m]Max[/name_m] and [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]

I like the flexibility that [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] gives! If you didnā€™t really like [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and/or if you werenā€™t ever going to use it, Iā€™d say to just go with [name_m]Max[/name_m]. But since you like both, you might as well go with [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]!

[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] gives him the alternative option [name_m]Wells[/name_m], if he ever wants it.

Iā€™m not a fan of [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m], Iā€™d just go with [name_m]Max[/name_m]

I would go with [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] nn [name_m]Max[/name_m]. It gives you the two amazing options. I love names with nicknames.

I like [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] too! The only reason Iā€™d maybe go with the shorter [name_m]Max[/name_m] is if you have a longer middle name you like or if you have a long last name.
