I quite like the “may” sound in boys names at the moment, and the “eye” sound too. But I’m struggling to find names with those sounds that I love and can see myself using.
Right now, I like:
Mavor [[name]MAY[/name]-ver]
Mabon [[name]MAY[/name]-ben]
[name]Major[/name] [[name]MAY[/name]-jer]
[name]Elias[/name] [eel-EYE-us]
[name]Elijah[/name] [el-EYE-juh]
[name]Milo[/name] [MYE-lo]
But I’m not certain about any of them. Help, Berries?
From your list my favorites are [name]Elias[/name] and [name]Milo[/name] and both are totally usable! [name]Elijah[/name] is usable too. I like the idea of Mabon but I can see that being mispronounced.
I really like [name]Elias[/name] and [name]Milo[/name]! Particularly [name]Elias[/name].
Not sure if these really suit your style, but what about:
[name]Ivan[/name] (could also be a full name for the nn [name]Ivo[/name]?)
[name]Riley[/name]
[name]Niles[/name]/[name]Miles[/name]
[name]Silas[/name]/[name]Cyrus[/name]/[name]Simon[/name]
[name]Linus[/name]
[name]Wyatt[/name]
[name]Hiatt[/name]
[name]Giles[/name]
[name]Kyle[/name] (not your style, I’m guessing, but it was one I thought of, haha)
[name]Lyle[/name] (see [name]Kyle[/name]!)
Midas (maybe too out-there and not exactly the best association…)
[name]Byron[/name]
[name]Kai[/name]
I can’t really think of anything with the [name]MAY[/name] sound in it… but I hope some of those helped!
My favorites from your list are [name]Elias[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name]. Other names with “may” sound: [name]Ismay[/name]/[name]Esmay[/name], [name]Ishmael[/name], [name]Mason[/name], [name]Mace[/name], [name]Macon[/name], [name]Mayo[/name], Ma’or, [name]Macy[/name]/[name]Macey[/name], Maden, [name]Madox[/name], Mayfield, Makepeace, [name]Maynard[/name], [name]Mayer[/name], Mayne, and Mays.
I do love [name]Elias[/name]/[name]Elijah[/name] and [name]Milo[/name], but I’ve gone of [name]Elijah[/name] and [name]Elias[/name] a little, and [name]Milo[/name] just seems a little too cutesy for a grown up.
As for the suggestions, I love [name]Ivan[/name], [name]Riley[/name], [name]Silas[/name], [name]Cyrus[/name], [name]Linus[/name], [name]Hiatt[/name], Midas and [name]Byron[/name]. However, I could only see myself using most of them as middle names I would consider using [name]Cyrus[/name] as a first name (if [name]Miley[/name] [name]Cyrus[/name] every disappears from the public eye) though I actually do like [name]Lisle[/name], as a shorter version of [name]Carlisle[/name], but the [name]Lyle[/name] spelling doesn’t appeal to me, so you were half-right there!
With the “may” suggestions, I love [name]Mason[/name] (how did I not think of this?), Mayne and Mays. I would use Mays as a middle name, but Mayne reminds me too much of the way “gangstas” say ‘man’, and [name]Mason[/name] is just too common.
