I’m due in 40 days and am still spinning on names!
My husband and my top name is [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]. It’s the one name we both really like for its vintage feel and also that it’s the birthstone for [name_u]June[/name_u] which was my grandmother’s birth month. There is just one thing in the back of my mind with [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]. There is a prominent neighborhood in our city called the [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] District (which we are not naming her after). It’s a nice neighborhood and although we don’t live in it, I can’t help but worry the name might feel too connected to the neighborhood (think of a girl named [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] living in NYC). My husband thinks it’s a non-issue. Am I over-analyzing it?
To help me decide if [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is really “the one”, I think I need to take a step back and think through some more options. The list below are names I like - some of these we’ve steered away from because we want to keep off the top 100.

You could use [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] as a first name but I personally would only use it as a middle. However if you look at my signature we have two completely different name styles. All in all I think it is a very feminine and soft name. From your list I like:

[name_f]Grace[/name_f] (however is pretty sure it would be within the top 100)

I think [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is a lovely name and I wouldn’t worry too much! That always happens and in the end it will all be alright and I honestly don’t think that your girl will live her whole life in that city. From your list I really like [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f]!
I agree with your husband: it’s a non-issue. [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is absolutely beautiful and I think you may regret it if you don’t use the name you love. From you list I love [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucia[/name_f].
I say go with the name u love! [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t overthink it. I really like [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] from your list as well… Perhaps [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]?
I don’t think the neighborhood should worry you. [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is already a word so it’s not the same as having a [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] in NYC or a [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] in [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is cute. I do like [name_f]Greta[/name_f] from your list (with the pearl meaning) as well as [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], [name_f]Estelle[/name_f], and [name_f]Eva[/name_f].
If you want to add to the list, some suggestions are [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f], [name_f]Inez[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_u]June[/name_u].

I think it’s a non-issue. There are often other places/products (think [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] Redenbacher popcorn, [name_f]Jenny[/name_f] [name_m]Craig[/name_m], [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u]) and they don’t ruin a name. [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is lovely. Go for it!
I really like [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]. I know the cutest sisters called [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]. From your list I’m really liking [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] at the moment. Go with your first love.
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is lovely, as is the suggested [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. I would also like to throw [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] in the mix, similar to [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] sounds amazing imo.
