Maya Maria (nn Emmy)??

My husband and I are not yet expecting, but we discuss the names of future second child quite often. Recently, we started talking about the name [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. To me, it seemed like the name should be automatically disqualified because we plan to use the middle name [name_f]Maria[/name_f] if we have a girl. The two together seemed too repetitive to me, I guess. But my husband really seems to like the combo, especially because he likes the idea of calling her [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] (or even “Eminem” lol).

Our son’s name is one syllable and it’s pretty common. Our last name is two syllables and starts with S.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] looking for some thoughts and feedback! Is [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Maria[/name_f] just too repetitive or is actually cute?

[name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Maria[/name_f] is a bit much for me, but it could work. [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] is cute as a nickname. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] might work better if its an option, but i guess it all depends really how much you value flow

I love alliteration so I am very into [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Maria[/name_f]. I think it’s happy and bouncy.

I like the alliteration and the nicknames  But [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Maria[/name_f] is just too repetitive to my ear… doesn’t flow well together. I like pp’s suggestion of [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f], if that’s an option for you. Or a different M name, like [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Maria[/name_f]. Either of those work much better.
