Maya's sister's name?

I would really appreciate some contributions to my short list for my baby due this [name_u]December[/name_u].

My daughter is [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Rosa[/name_f], she has wavy/curly brown hair, bright blue eyes and light/tan skin. I’m pregnant with our second child and need some good name ideas.

[name_f]Maya[/name_f] is amazingly rich in history and meaning, yet it’s simple, soft and easily accepted. I would love her sister’s name to be historical and meaningful too and still soft and feminine. Nothing too popular ([name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] etc)

I like historical, meaningful, classic/traditional spellings only, not trendy, not quirky, sort of exotic. I don’t like any classic western names, they’re way too popular for my taste. And anything with “[name_u]Lyn[/name_u]” is off the table. Thank you!

[name_f]Maya[/name_f] is quite popular in the States, but rightly so. It is a wonderfully simply yet sweet name. I truly like it.

Here are a few simple and sweet suggestions for a sister. I didn’t bother with middles, since those might be significant or have a different set of rules for you.

My first thought was [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] or [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]! [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] is popular but has rich history like you mentioned being criteria. I think your daughter’s name is beautiful.

[name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] sounds like a beautiful child!

Before I go reading about all of these great names, just want to say thank you!!! Many of these suggestions flow perfectly and fit right in with [name_f]Maya[/name_f], yet are distinct from [name_f]Maya[/name_f] too! Thank you again. I have to try to remember to update with the name we chose. A lot of these are going on my list now

Well so far my husband, daughter, mom and I like [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]! It definitely measures up to [name_f]Maya[/name_f] in terms of being a “normal” name but also really old with history there. Seems to really suit our image of our baby. [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] would even suit my daughter [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] might be the name! Thanks  I didn’t consider it previously.
