Maybe have decided our favorite boys name

We don’t know the sex yet but have a feeling it’s a boy. We’ll know in the next month. My favorite names so far have been [name]Edmond[/name], after my grandfather whom I was close with ([name]RIP[/name]), [name]Silas[/name] and [name]Jasper[/name]. [name]Silas[/name] and [name]Jasper[/name] are most popular than I normally care for, but not too popular and they have stood the test of time. My husband loves the name [name]Jasper[/name] and I love it too, but since his name is [name]Justin[/name] I didn’t want to use it because [name]IMO[/name] it’s similar to [name]Justin[/name] in sound and I didn’t want any of our kids having the same first initial.

Last night I was half asleep and was feeling some of the baby’s movement when I thought “[name]Edmond[/name] [name]Jasper[/name]”. I woke up because I was actually getting excited about a boys name! My husband came to bed shortly after and I couldn’t fall asleep, I was excited to talk to him about it. We had previously discussed using [name]Edmond[/name] [name]Glenn[/name] (DH’s grandfather’s name and his mn) but it seemed mundane for me. DH loves the name [name]Glenn[/name] too, but he suggested [name]Jasper[/name] since the beginning and loved that too.

So if the baby is a boy [name]Edmond[/name] [name]Jasper[/name] might be the name. We are undecided what he will go by. Maybe [name]Eddie[/name], EJ or [name]Jaz[/name]. My grandfather was known to family and friends as [name]Ed[/name]. Another reason I love the name more is [name]Edmond[/name] means wealthy protector. My grandfather quit his 9-5 government job to start his own business and built a reputable successful company where we are from. The company is still going strong under the management of my father today, it has to to do with property management, construction and investments with local banks. So the description is fitting. [name]Jasper[/name] means “bringer of treasure”, and I like how both names give a similar vibe in meaning even though they have different roots.

Thoughts on [name]Edmond[/name] [name]Jasper[/name]? Our last name starts w/ a B and is two syllables, so it’ll be 2-2-2 but I don’t mind. Also, what nickname would you use? I am a nickname person by nature and know the kid won’t go by his full first name all the time unless he wants to.

I vote for [name]Silas[/name].

I love [name]Edmond[/name] [name]Jasper[/name] and I love all the meaning it has for you!
I think 2-2-2 is one of the repetitive rhythms that work.
I also think getting some nice rhythm is more icing on the cake, it shouldn’t drive the name.
I like [name]Ed[/name] and EJ. [name]Jaz[/name] I like less, although it’d be fine (and certainly fine as an around-the-house nn).
My favorite nickname for the [name]Ed[/name] names is [name]Ned[/name]. [name]Just[/name] another option.
Congrats on finding a great name!

I like [name]Silas[/name] too and you should hold onto it if you have more - [name]Edmond[/name] and [name]Silas[/name] would be great brothers!

I agree, will hold onto the name [name]Silas[/name], you never know!

[name]Ed[/name] won’t be a nickname we use because my husband’s uncle is [name]Ed[/name] (for [name]Edward[/name]), and my grandfather was so very known as [name]Ed[/name], we wanted to go a different route for nn.

I think [name]Edmond[/name] [name]Jasper[/name] is great. Besides [name]Eddie[/name] or [name]Jaz[/name] (which are nice), you might be able to stretch the nn to [name]Don[/name], [name]Dom[/name], or (perhaps oddly) Edge (from [name]Ed[/name]. J.).

OOoooo I like Edge. I thought of Eeej as well, but Edge is just cool lol.

I love [name]Edmond[/name] [name]Jasper[/name]! Such a “cool” name, especially the nn of Edge. I also like the nn EJ.

So happy you and husband are finding a boys name, and best of luck in the next months! God bless!

[name]Edmond[/name] [name]Jasper[/name] is a great name! Although I love [name]Silas[/name] a lot, the meaning [name]Edmond[/name] [name]Jasper[/name] has for you is so great. I like the nicknames Edge and EJ as well! Great choice!

[name]Edmond[/name] [name]Jasper[/name] is great! I love it. I quite like EJ, but initial nicknames have always seemed like such a cop-out to me, when you have two gorgeous names there as it is. I actually love EJ, but I always end up loving the “E” name I would choose for EJ more than I actually love EJ. I have [name]Everett[/name] [name]Joshua[/name] [name]Charles[/name] on my list, but I’m sure I’d always call him [name]Everett[/name]/Ev over EJ, haha.

My favorite nn for [name]Edmond[/name]/[name]Edmund[/name] is [name]Teddy[/name], but [name]Eddie[/name] and [name]Ned[/name] are cute, too.

Good luck!

[name]Edmond[/name] [name]Jasper[/name] is nice. I like EJ and [name]Eddie[/name] for nns…the Edge nn ellenelle came up with is pretty cool. I don’t care for [name]Ned[/name].

Edited for privacy.

I can’t do 2 middle names. It’s just too silly for me. If we have another boy I already thought [name]Silas[/name] [name]Glenn[/name] could work very well lol.

Thanks for the feedback every! Much appreciated.

[name]Edmond[/name] [name]Jasper[/name] and [name]Silas[/name] [name]Glenn[/name] would be a great sibset!

[name]Edmond[/name] [name]Jasper[/name] is pretty cool, and while [name]Edmond[/name] isn’t my style I think [name]Jasper[/name] brightens up and makes the name seem modern. I love the suggestion of Edge, that is so cool. I also think [name]Ted[/name]/[name]Teddy[/name] would be really cute while he’s little.

[name]Edmond[/name] [name]Jasper[/name] and [name]Silas[/name] [name]Glenn[/name] are wonderful together, love that idea.

[name]Edmond[/name] [name]Jasper[/name] has a nice, strong feel to it. The nicknames are all great- perhaps waiting to see him will help you decide!
