Recently I have started planning a novel based on something I was writing a couple of years ago. It’s a contemporary coming-of-age story about four siblings and the relationships that grow and develop between them as they grow up.

I have names for them, but I am still uncertain! I’d love some more suggestions to help me out. The surname is [name_m]Forrest[/name_m], and as a way of linking them, I’d like the middles to all include the letter V. Thank you!

[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_u]Raven[/name_u] [name_m]Forrest[/name_m]- aged 18, last year of school. Very emotional, proud, fierce, feisty and always brutally honest!
Dark haired, big dark eyes, pale complexion. (Can you think of nicknames for [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] as well as alternative names?)

[name_u]Finlay[/name_u] [name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_m]Forrest[/name_m]- aged 16. Carefree, easygoing, cheerful, friendly, relaxed. Tall and lanky, with brown hair and light blue eyes.

[name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_m]Forrest[/name_m]- aged 15. Serious, observant, nosy, talkative and inquisitive. Dark haired and dark eyed, bespectacled, short and stocky.

[name_m]Lucas[/name_m] (insert middle) [name_m]Forrest[/name_m]- aged 13. Studious, smart, inspired, eager, timid and trusting. [name_u]Sandy[/name_u] hair, small and thin.

[name_f]Victoria[/name_f]: I like this name for her. It feels very fitting to her character, although it feels a little old-fashioned compared to her siblings. The middles linking are enough to connect them, though. Nicknames could be [name_f]Tori[/name_f]/[name_f]Tory[/name_f], [name_u]Vic[/name_u], [name_f]Vicki[/name_f]/[name_f]Vicky[/name_f]/[name_f]Vikki[/name_f], [name_f]Ria[/name_f], [name_f]Vivi[/name_f], [name_f]Toya[/name_f], and maybe even [name_f]Victory[/name_f].

[name_u]Finley[/name_u]: I think [name_u]Finley[/name_u] fits well, but a few other suggestions: [name_u]Chase[/name_u], [name_m]Josh/name_m, [name_m]Kent[/name_m], [name_m]Adam[/name_m], [name_m]Martin[/name_m] “[name_u]Marty[/name_u]”, [name_m]Will[/name_m], [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], [name_m]Declan[/name_m], and [name_u]Brett[/name_u].

[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]: I think [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] is perfect, especially [name_f]Olive[/name_f]. Her description is exactly how I picture an [name_f]Olive[/name_f] to be.

[name_m]Lucas[/name_m]: I like [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]! I’ve noticed your middles are all two syllable names, so here are some suggestions:

I don’t think [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] is old-fashioned compared to [name_u]Finlay[/name_u], [name_f]Abigail[/name_f], and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]! They fit together perfectly as a sib-set to me.

[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_u]Raven[/name_u] - I see her NN being [name_u]Vic[/name_u] or [name_f]Tori[/name_f].

[name_u]Finlay[/name_u] [name_u]Evan[/name_u] - I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_u]Finlay[/name_u], especially in that spelling. He could be [name_m]Fin[/name_m], but I’d see only his closest calling him that with [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] being his default name. Or the opposite…like he’s [name_m]Fin[/name_m] at school, but his sibs call him [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] most of the time.

[name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] - [name_u]Abby[/name_u]/-ie/-ey is the obvious nickname. But you could always NN her middle and call her [name_u]Ollie[/name_u]!

[name_m]Lucas[/name_m] - I see [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] just going by [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]. And I’m terrible at middle names (notice zero combos on my signature) so sorry I have no suggestions for [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]'s middle!
