Memphis?

The only boy name can agree on is [name_u]Memphis[/name_u]. No one so far likes it. I love that it’s common but different.

We’d probably use [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] [name_m]Randall[/name_m] or [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] [name_u]Grady[/name_u].

We don’t live in [name_u]Tennessee[/name_u], so there won’t be any of that confusion.

His brothers are [name_u]Brennan[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Richard[/name_m] if that helps anything.

Is it really they bad??

Any other suggestions to throw at DH would be great, but he’s knocked down almost everything.

I personally love [name_u]Memphis[/name_u], and i think [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] [name_u]Grady[/name_u] is great!

I am not a big fan of [name_u]Memphis[/name_u]. I would think he may get asked a lot about his name. Like if there is a special meaning to [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] the place. It doesn’t seem like there is for you.

Some other suggestions:
[name_m]Asher[/name_m]
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u]
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m]
[name_m]Byron[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u]
[name_u]Cameron[/name_u]
[name_m]Denison[/name_m]
[name_m]Donovan[/name_m]
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u]
[name_m]Landon[/name_m]
[name_m]Nolan[/name_m]
[name_m]Otis[/name_m]
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]

I adore [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] as a name! I prefer [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] [name_m]Randall[/name_m] to [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] [name_u]Grady[/name_u].

I find it awkward personally, sorry

I wouldn’t use this if you live in the US, and not just because it’s the name of a city. [name_u]Memphis[/name_u], TN has a notorious reputation for crime, and that reputation has been around for a long time. However, if [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] is really the only name you can agree on, I like the sound of [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] [name_u]Grady[/name_u].

I don’t think it’s necessarily a “bad name” but it’s definitely geographical to the point that nearly everyone in the US automatically thinks of TN whether you live there or not - unlike other place names like [name_u]Dakota[/name_u], [name_u]Jordan[/name_u], [name_m]Austin[/name_m], [name_f]Savannah[/name_f], etc. Your other boys have non-geographical names that are fairly common so I do think [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] will stick out. If I had to pick I’d choose [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] [name_u]Grady[/name_u]. Your other boys also have double-letters in their first names which could be a cute and subtle theme you could stick with - [name_m]Canaan[/name_m], [name_m]Maddox[/name_m], [name_m]Griffin[/name_m], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_m]Tripp[/name_m] are just a few suggestions.

First of all, we love the names [name_u]Brennan[/name_u] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Richard[/name_m]. They are so strong and powerful. However, we don’t feel [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] fits in with the siblings names. Some other M ideas are: [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m], [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] and [name_m]Maverick[/name_m]. Some non-M names are [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m], [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] ([name_m]Jonas[/name_m]), [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m], and [name_m]Beckett[/name_m]. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] these ideas are helpful

Yeah, I don’t think it works very well as a name.

Personally, I love [name_u]Memphis[/name_u]. I think it’s very handsome. Of your combos, I prefer [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] [name_m]Randall[/name_m] - I think that flows better.

As someone who lives there, I’m kind of against it. The city is not something I’d want as a namesake. I can’t watch the news anymore because I got tired of hearing about kids being shot and people killing each other over the littlest things. The only thing I can think of when I hear [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] is “poor and dangerous.”

I don’t dislike it as a name, I think of the Egyptian [name_u]Memphis[/name_u], but to me it’s feminine. If you like that style and sound maybe consider other latin/greek names that end in -is or -us? But I don’t think it’s unusable for a boy.

As as native Tennessean, I can tell you firsthand that [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] is SO much more than crime and poverty. There is so much history, what with jazz/blues music, one-of-a-kind BBQ, the [name_m]King[/name_m]'s residence, and the final place where the beloved MLK stood alive.

I personally love [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] as a name. I actually love most city names, but unfortunately my last name is a city name so I cannot use them. [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] has a cool vibe to me - probably because it reminds me of the city itself! I don’t love [name_m]Randall[/name_m] or [name_u]Grady[/name_u], but if they are special to you, then ignore my opinions on them.

I really like [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] on any gender. I prefer it with [name_m]Randall[/name_m].

I really love the name [name_u]Memphis[/name_u]! It’s in my top 10. Makes me think of the [name_u]Tennessee[/name_u] city (which, since I’ve never been, I think mostly of jazz and BBQ), the Egyptian city, and the soccer player [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] Depay. I love [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] [name_m]Randall[/name_m], especially with your older boys’ names.

Makes me think of the blues (good thing!). Its a city name I can get behind. I love [name_u]Memphis[/name_u] [name_m]Randall[/name_m].
