Meredith.

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_u]Meredith[/name_u]. But have always had a hard time coming up with any kind of nn for it. Any suggestions? The only one I can ever think of is “Mere” pronounced like “[name_f]Mare[/name_f]” and while I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] horses am not a fan of my child having the nickname of evil horses. [name_f]Mare[/name_f]'s are known for being kind of mean. Lol.

[name_u]Meredith[/name_u]'s great. [name_f]Merry[/name_f], [name_f]Edie[/name_f], [name_f]Dita[/name_f]?

I thought mare’s were just female horses? I know its a friendly rebuke as well, but I don’t know about the word ‘evil’ being synonymous with it! Lol.

[name_f]Emmy[/name_f] or [name_f]Merry[/name_f] would be my choices for [name_u]Meredith[/name_u].

A [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] I know goes by Merede (pronounced Merra-dee)

I like [name_u]Meredith[/name_u], too. Aside from what’s been mentioned:
[name_f]Mera[/name_f] (prounced [name_f]Mare[/name_f]-a, like the beginning of [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] - sort of [name_f]Vera[/name_f] with an M)
[name_m]Eddie[/name_m]/ [name_f]Ettie[/name_f]
Meddie/ [name_f]Mettie[/name_f]

I love the name [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] too! I always though [name_f]Merry[/name_f] was a cute little nn.

[name_m]Mares[/name_m] as in night mares:)

[name_u]Meredith[/name_u]…

[name_f]Edie[/name_f], [name_f]Merry[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f], [name_f]Dita[/name_f], [name_f]Mae[/name_f], [name_f]Emmy[/name_f]

: )

I think my favorites are [name_f]Merry[/name_f] or [name_f]Mera[/name_f].

A bit different, but I went to school with a [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] who went by Med.
I like the sound of [name_f]Merry[/name_f].

I adore the name [name_u]Meredith[/name_u]! I would use [name_f]Merrie[/name_f] or [name_f]Merry[/name_f] as a nn.

OH I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the [name_f]Ettie[/name_f] and [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] nn’s! I love the [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] cause I kind of like girls with boyish names or nicknames. I’m not really a fan of [name_f]Merry[/name_f], makes me think of [name_f]Merry[/name_f] [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] and I’m not a fan of [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]. Lol. And I meant mare’s the horse are evil. They’re known to be mean and stubborn. So that’s why I don’t like “Mere” as a nickname. I like Med too! And I like [name_f]Dita[/name_f]… So many choices!!

[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] is really growing on me recently - maybe a bit ‘soft’ for my tastes but it’s beautiful.

I absolutely love the idea of [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] nn [name_f]Dita[/name_f].

I love the nickname Merit for [name_u]Meredith[/name_u]. other nicknames:

[name_f]Edie[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f], [name_f]Meri[/name_f]

I have a close friend names [name_u]Meredith[/name_u], and she generally just goes by her full name. I, and others, do call her Mere from time to time, but not so much as a steady nickname (kinda like how people occasionally call me [name_u]Ash[/name_u].) She shortens it to [name_f]Mary[/name_f] in usernames, but not in person. There is also a middle school student she mentors who calls her Ditty, which could be cute for a toddler or a family nickname.
