I’ve been crushing hard on this name recently as a first or second middle for [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]. I could use some feedback!
What do you think of the name itself?
What do you think of [name_m]Meriwether[/name_m] as one of two middle names for [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]?
Is your first association the explorer, or something else?
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think the connection with [name_m]Meriwether[/name_m] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] is problematic (due to the connection with “manifest destiny”)?
What would be some combos for [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] ____ [name_m]Meriwether[/name_m] or [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_m]Meriwether[/name_m] ____? Bonus points for nature / word names such as [name_u]Atlas[/name_u], [name_u]North[/name_u], [name_u]Cove[/name_u], etc.
It’s an interesting choice! The meaning is certainly positive and I think it makes a good middle that could work with [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]!
[name_f]My[/name_f] first association is one of the fairies from Sleeping [name_f]Beauty[/name_f] (all wonderfully named - [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Fauna[/name_f] and Merryweather). I’m not American so I can’t comment too much on the association with [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] and [name_m]Clark[/name_m], but since it is a middle it’s probably less of a problem anyway.
Here are some nature-esque suggestions for you - I think the flow of [name_m]Meriwether[/name_m] as a first middle vs as a second middle will probably depend on your surname, so I’ll leave that up to you.
@Archer27 - Thank you so much for your feedback! I had completely forgotten about the Sleeping [name_f]Beauty[/name_f] association, and that honestly makes me love it even more!
I am so bonkers over [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_m]Meriwether[/name_m] [name_u]Forest[/name_u], and would use it in a heartbeat if it weren’t for an unfortunate family connection! I’m also loving [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_m]Meriwether[/name_m] [name_m]Hawk[/name_m], [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_u]Fox[/name_u] [name_m]Meriwether[/name_m], and [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_m]Meriwether[/name_m] [name_u]Gale[/name_u] is a fantastic juxtaposition.
[name_m]Meriwether[/name_m] is a bright, lively name for me! I had an [name_f]English[/name_f] teacher with this name so that’s my first association. I confess nothing comes to mind about the explorer and I decided not to google to give you a fresh impression, as if I’d just met a little [name_m]Meriwether[/name_m]! I think [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_m]Meriwether[/name_m] flows really well and stylistically they’re a great match.
I don’t know who [name_m]Meriwether[/name_m] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] is

[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_u]Griffin[/name_u] [name_m]Meriwether[/name_m]
i adore it ! it is a very underrated name, i think it looks and sounds best in first middle name spot. i don’t have any associations with it so i can’t comment on those
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_m]Meriweather[/name_m] is really cool and adventuorus. I’ve never heard of [name_m]Meriweather[/name_m] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] so I cant help with those questions I’m afraid.
Ooo… I’m fascinated by this! A magical, unexpected name for a little boy ( I think I’m in love)!
To me [name_m]Meriweather[/name_m] is whimsical and fun. A light, breezy name. It has a very joyful feel to it.
I think it sits next to [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] wonderfully. The combination is a total vibe!
[name_f]My[/name_f] first (and only) association is the fairy from Sleeping [name_f]Beauty[/name_f]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] her and her sass - it’s a positive association for me!
I’ve never heard of [name_m]Meriweather[/name_m] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m], so I can’t really comment on if it’s a bad association.
I think I’m leaning towards [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_m]Meriweather[/name_m] ______ for flow, and I’m loving the suggestion of [name_u]Fox[/name_u]!
[name_m]Meriwether[/name_m] is unexpected and delightful!
In the middle spot I wouldn’t be concerned with the [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] connection. Frankly, I’m more concerned that no one is familiar with this massively famous explorer.
