Mia or Maeve?

I posted a few weeks back about choosing a girl name that pairs well with my last name, [name_u]Allison[/name_u].

At this point I really like [name_f]Mia[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. Looking for opinions on which one we should choose and any middle name suggestions!

Thanks!

Personally I prefer the flow of [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] with your last name! I think the sharp, cool V sound works really well with the softer sounds of [name_u]Allison[/name_u].

I agree with the previous poster, [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] sounds much better with your last name to me! I also love how sweet and fresh it is :blossom:

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]! I’ve taught so many Mias and while I realize that [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is popular, it’s still fresh and classic.

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is warm and gorgeous!!

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Emily[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] (initials would be MIA - so it could be a nickname)
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] pairs better with your last name, and I also like how it’s not as popular!

I like [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]!

Middle name ideas:

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Karina[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Livia[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. It’s fresher than [name_f]Mia[/name_f], and the ending doesn’t clash with Allison’s beginning.

It’s gonna be a Maeve from me, although Mia is very sweet. I think it flows better with Allison, I adore its meaning, and I believe it’s a little more unique in comparison!

As for middle names, I love the previous suggestions of Maeve Isabelle or Maeve Isabel with Mia as a potential nickname option.

Here are some more ideas in a few different styles:

  • Maeve Josephine Allison
  • Maeve Amelia Allison
  • Maeve Elizabeth Allison
  • Maeve Celestia Allison
  • Maeve Seraphina Allison
  • Maeve Penelope Allison
  • Maeve Leonora Allison
  • Maeve Calliope Allison
  • Maeve Lily Allison

I like the flow of [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_u]Allison[/name_u]

REALLY love the idea of a middle name starting with I to get you the [name_f]Mia[/name_f] nickname.

Another vote for [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]! I really love that name and it works well with your surname

I prefer [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]! It’s unique but recognizable, and it flows very nicely with your last name. [name_f]Mia[/name_f] is nice too, but not my favorite and doesn’t sound quite as good with your last name.

I prefer [name_f]Mia[/name_f]!

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f].

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] might go well with a three-syllable middle name like [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] or another v sound like [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] or [name_f]Violet[/name_f]!

I agree [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is really pretty with the surname [name_u]Allison[/name_u].

I love [name_f]Mia[/name_f]
