Which do you prefer and why? [name_m]Just[/name_m] curious!
I don’t think I necessarily have a favorite between the two. I do love both of them, they’re beautiful. I guess it would depend on the surname/background, you know?
Maya, definitely! It feels more strong and classic.
I prefer [name_f]Mia[/name_f]. It has a soft sound that I like. I don’t dislike [name_f]Maya[/name_f] though, it just sounds a bit more harsh to me.
As a full name I prefer [name_f]Maya[/name_f], though as a nickname I love [name_f]Mia[/name_f].
I like both a lot, but, if I have to choose, I think I prefer [name_f]Mia[/name_f]. It’s just really cute, but ages well, and I agree that it has a slightly softer sound than [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. If I didn’t have a relative named [name_f]Mia[/name_f], I might consider it myself.
Mia!
Maya is verstaile and not too attached to an era, place or time. I like that [name_f]Maya[/name_f] is connected to different cultures and history, even if it did have a heyday, probably at the same time as [name_f]Mia[/name_f]. [name_f]Mia[/name_f] is forever early 2000s happy yupster, at least in my mind, and that’s not a bad thing to be.
I prefer [name_f]Maya[/name_f]! [name_f]Maia[/name_f] is on my long list.
Maya! I love the Hebrew origins. [name_f]Mia[/name_f] is sweet but [name_f]Maya[/name_f] makes me happy.
I like [name_f]Mia[/name_f]. [name_m]Can[/name_m]’t explain why I just do.
I say [name_f]Maya[/name_f] because it sounds like a strong name for a young girl (not saying [name_f]Mia[/name_f] doesn’t sound strong)
Maya seems less trendy and more substantial
I prefer the distinct [name_f]Maya[/name_f]
I prefer [name_f]Maya[/name_f] (although I much prefer the [name_f]Maia[/name_f] spelling - because it’s cuter). [name_f]Mia[/name_f] feels very nicknamey to me, and it’s so overused that it’s just lost its spark for me.
Maya! Not a [name_f]Mia[/name_f] fan, personally.
I really strongly prefer [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. Harkens back to the ancient Mayan culture and the ruins of Mexico and Central [name_u]America[/name_u]. I’ve also wondered if Mayan could be a name and would love to hear anyone’s thoughts on this…?
definitely [name_f]Maya[/name_f]!! [name_f]Maya[/name_f] is super down to earth and [name_f]Mia[/name_f] just doesn’t do it for me…
Mayaan is a Hebrew name pronounced (my-ON) and if it was pronounced like that rather than [name_f]May[/name_f]-in or [name_f]My[/name_f]-in I totally think it could work!!
So you like it spelled Mayan but pronounced my-ON as opposed to [name_f]My[/name_f]-in, which would probably be the more natural pronunciation? ([name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to make sure I’m understanding…)
