What do you think of first when you hear [name]Mica[/name]? Boy or girl name?? I realize it can be both but what do people lean toward? Personally, I have only ever known two [name]Mica[/name]'s. [name]One[/name] is a woman in her 30s and the other is a preschooler. So I’ve just automatically always thought of it as a girl’s name but when I google it appears to be maybe more a male name. I should add pronounciation I’m going w/ here is [name]Mike[/name]-a
My mother in law has a female cat name [name]Mica[/name]. I am not sure how she spells it, but she pronounces it Mee-kah. I have always preferred the Mee-kah pronunciation over My-kah. When it is said like My-kah it reminds me of a [name]Michael[/name] and seems masculine. The Mee-kah pronunciation sounds feminine to me. Not really sure. I like it either way, but prefer it on a female.
Use on either would seem ok to me. The [name]Mica[/name] spelling for me would make it more girly, while the [name]Micah[/name] spelling more boyish. But being pronounced the same, most people meeting him/her wouldn’t know the spelling anyway.
[name]Micah[/name] is unisex to me. I say [name]Mike[/name]-uh. I really prefer it on a girl. I think of the rock that breaks off in sheets…I used to collect rocks as a kid so the name is special to me! I guess [name]Micah[/name] is my preferred sort-of [name]Michael[/name] variant since I don’t like [name]Michaela[/name].
It’s all-male to me.
[name]Mica[/name] is a rock so technically it’s unisex but since it sounds exactly like [name]Micah[/name] it comes across masculine.
Naming a girl [name]Mica[/name] would cause pronunciation confusion. Most will assume it’s “mee-kah”. Might be better to go with [name]Myka[/name]. What about [name]Micaiah[/name] “ma-kai-ah”? He was a bible character but the name is so obscure most won’t attach a gender to it like they would with [name]Mica[/name]/[name]Micah[/name]
I think [name]Mica[/name] spelled that way could be either, but [name]Micah[/name] with the h is considered masculine (I believe [name]Micah[/name] was a man in the Bible)
Boy…
I know a 30-yr-old woman with this name, [name]Micah[/name], pronounced [name]Mike[/name]-a. I have another friend, also a woman, named Micca, who pronounces it mee-ka. I’ve never met a male [name]Mica[/name]/[name]Micah[/name].
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Mica[/name]!!! In fact, it’s on my list for boys and girls… spelled differently though:
[name]Micah[/name] - A character from one of my favorite Childhood books. He was a fairy prince, but when he was trapped in the human world, he used the name [name]Michael[/name].
[name]Myka[/name] - for a girl. I love the sound of this!
I went to school with a [name]Mycah[/name] - a girl. I always loved her name…
[name]Mica[/name] gets a male vibe from me.
Spelled [name]Mica[/name] or [name]Micah[/name] it could be either a boy or a girl name. If it was spelled [name]Myka[/name], I’d assume it was a girl.
I knew a female [name]Micah[/name]. On Heroes there was a boy [name]Micah[/name]. On Paranormal Activity there was a boy [name]Micah[/name] (pronounced Mee-kah)
I still think of it as a girl name.
If I heard [name]Mike[/name]-uh, I would assume you were talking about a man named [name]Micah[/name]. If I read [name]Mica[/name], I would assume it was in reference to a woman who pronounces her name Mee-kuh.
I prefer it on a boy as [name]Micah[/name]. However, I have known more female Mikas.
Since it’s pronounced like [name]Micah[/name], I’d say it sounds more like a boys name.
Yes, this sums it up.
Definitely a boy’s name to me.
I know a woman [name]Mica[/name] (nn for [name]Mikaela[/name]) prn MEE-kah, so that is all girl to me, pronounced that way. It just sounds like a girl’s name, too. [name]Micah[/name] is a boy’s name, spelled and pronounced that way.
[name]Mica[/name] is a mineral. [name]Micah[/name] is a boy’s name.
We have a russian blue female cat we named [name]Mika[/name], but we say it as Me-Ka, so female for me and I like me-ka over mike-a anyway
