Mick - Girl Names

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I LOVE [name_m]Mick[/name_m] as a girl nick name. He likes [name_u]Mickey[/name_u] but I can’t saddle my kid with that. I don’t mind if that is a nickname for their name though. [name_f]My[/name_f] grandpa’s name was [name_u]Michael[/name_u] but went by [name_m]Mick[/name_m] so this has family meaning.

[name_u]Michael[/name_u] - What I would like to go with. I know two female Michaels who rock it. I am not sure I am ballsy enough to do this even though I love unisex names.

[name_m]Mick[/name_m] - What I know I will call her anyway, maybe just cut to the chase? It doesn’t sound finished though and makes middle names hard.

Mickelle - [name_u]Love[/name_u] the nick names for this - [name_m]Mick[/name_m]/Mickey, Kel/Kelly (dad’s name), [name_f]Elle[/name_f]/Ellie. I am not sure I am in love with the acutal name though.

[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t bother responding if you hate [name_u]Michael[/name_u] for a girl, that’s not what I am asking. I want to know positives of each.

Last name starts with G

Brother’s name is Icem.

Thank you!

I had a friend named [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f] who went by [name_u]Mickey[/name_u]!

I like Mickelle with the nickname [name_m]Mick[/name_m]! I also think that [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] ‘[name_m]Mick[/name_m]’ would work just fine if you like that, or [name_f]Dominica[/name_f]/Dominique.

Darn, I thought I listed. Thanks for the response. [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] is too popular for me. I like unique! I am a [name_f]Brittany[/name_f] and hated having a popular name!

Michael is not a good choice if you want unique. It’s a super common name, much more common than [name_f]Michaela[/name_f], even if it’s more common for boys. [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_m]Mick[/name_m] is definitely my favorite of the names you have listed.

Thank you! I guess I mean unique in its own right. You wouldn’t think twice hearing [name_u]Michael[/name_u] for a boy, but for a girl it makes you go hm!

I love Mickelle the most :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: it’s original and not thought of but makes for a nice name without being too out there or made up! Also like [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] as an alternative but I have heard of the name [name_f]Milica[/name_f] nn [name_u]Mickey[/name_u] would work, unisex name [name_f]Mckenna[/name_f] could also work and even [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u], I love [name_f]Milica[/name_f] and Icem as a sibling set :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Michael (or [name_u]Michal[/name_u]) on a girl is my favorite that you listed. I love [name_m]Mick[/name_m] and [name_u]Mickey[/name_u] for a girl!!

I also really like McKenna/Makenna, Mackinley/McKinley, [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u], [name_u]Dominique[/name_u]/Dominica, [name_u]Micaiah[/name_u], and [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] for [name_u]Mickey[/name_u]/Mick.

I’d go with just [name_m]Mick[/name_m]! It’s cute and sharp.

Mica ‘[name_m]Mick[/name_m]’ would be nice too

I like just [name_m]Mick[/name_m] best of your options! I also think [name_u]Micah[/name_u], [name_u]Dominique[/name_u]/Dominica, McKinley, McKennon, McKinney, McCarty, or any other Mc name would work!

I like just [name_m]Mick[/name_m] the best of your three options.

I would vote [name_u]Michal[/name_u] if that was an option! The one I knew pronounced it just like [name_u]Michael[/name_u]. It’s super rare but historically a female name.

As another mentioned, I also think any Mc-name would work really well for the nickname [name_m]Mick[/name_m]/Mickey!

My sister is [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f] nn Mik. I think [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f], [name_f]Michaela[/name_f], McKayla, or McKinley could work!

I really love [name_m]Mick[/name_m] ‘[name_u]Mickey[/name_u]’ and Mickelle. What about [name_f]Michelle[/name_f], [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f] and [name_f]Michalina[/name_f]. Instead of [name_u]Mickey[/name_u], would you like [name_f]Micki[/name_f] or [name_f]Mickee[/name_f]?

For a girl I’d shoot for [name_f]Micki[/name_f] or [name_f]Micheline[/name_f]

I like [name_m]Mick[/name_m] the best. [name_u]Michael[/name_u] is unique on a girl, but its long time popularity on boys makes it feel so meh. Mickelle reminds me of [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] and doesn’t flow well to me.

Have you considered [name_u]Mickey[/name_u]?

Yep, that was what we both liked but I just don’t want to saddle her with [name_u]Mickey[/name_u] Mouse. I personally wouldn’t want that name. Although I think [name_u]Mickey[/name_u] Mantle, most would think mouse :frowning: I don’t like other spellings of [name_u]Mickey[/name_u], I like the original. I don’t mind [name_u]Mickey[/name_u] being her NN or letting her choose to go by that. Thanks for the feedback on [name_m]Mick[/name_m]. I am surprised it passed Mickelle. I like it but am having a hard time having a middle name not sound like Mc______. Example, [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is his mom’s middle name we would think of using. [name_m]Mick[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] sounds like McLee… I don’t know. Thanks again!

I don’t like the less popular spellings. They all remind me of [name_u]Mickey[/name_u] Mouse anyway. I don’t mind if she is called [name_u]Mickey[/name_u] or chooses to go by it, but I don’t want to do it to her!

I just met a girl named McElle who was named after her uncle. It worked really well on her and she went by [name_f]Elle[/name_f] in public (though her husband called her [name_u]Mickey[/name_u])
So I voted for Mickelle, however the only hesitation I have with this is, written down, it looks a lot like [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] and I could easily see a teacher, or similar person reading down a list and mistakenly calling her [name_f]Michelle[/name_f]. Not too big of a deal to me, but something to think about,

Hi there.

Mick is pretty cute, & I love the family significance. I voted for just [name_m]Mick[/name_m] from your choices. But I love the suggestion of [name_u]Dominique[/name_u]. Also, I knew a girl growing up who was [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mikki[/name_f]. So, just [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] nn [name_m]Mick[/name_m] totally works in my opinion. I also think that [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] is good. [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u]/Mckenna, if you want to go that route.

Hope this helps.

What about Michelangela?
