In the past few weeks I’ve been bouncing some new ideas and projects around (a few characters I’m particularly proud of are named [name]Frederick[/name] [name]Poe[/name], [name]Sybille[/name] L’Heureux, and [name]Marcel[/name] Camelot) and one project involved a middle class English family from the 1850’s. Now this idea is still forming, and the plot line is in the early stages (I have an idea of what’ll happen, but it’s not crystal clear yet.) There’s a middle class family with three children, a son and two daughters.
The father is [name]Fitzwilliam[/name], born around 1800/1810.
His wife is either [name]Gwendolen[/name] (this seems a bit too “modern”, but I like the nickname [name]Dolly[/name]) or [name]Louisa[/name]- she’s born around 1800/1810
Their first son is either [name]Fitzwilliam[/name] [name]Jr[/name] (which feels unoriginal) or [name]Victor[/name]. He’s born in the early 1830’s.
Daughter number one is for sure [name]Dorothea[/name], and she’s born in the mid 1830’s.
And the second daughter is most likely going to be named [name]Rosamund[/name], she’s born in the mid to late 1830’s.
I’m unsure what to name [name]Dorothea[/name] and [name]Rosamund[/name]'s love interests, though I know I don’t want it to be something like [name]James[/name], [name]Robert[/name] or [name]Thomas[/name]. [name]Both[/name] men would be upper middle class. I know [name]Dorothea[/name]'s love interest has two sisters, but I’m not sure what they’re named.
I’m also considering a male cousin to be in the mix, and I was thinking [name]Walter[/name], but I’m not sure…
Any ideas on the name of the love interests, the brother, the sisters of [name]Dorothea[/name]'s love interest, or the cousin would be great! Thanks so much for taking the time to read and reply!
I know you think [name]Fitzwilliam[/name] [name]Jr[/name] feels unoriginal, but I think it makes alot of sense. He could go by a nickname (Like [name]Billy[/name] or something) where his father would be [name]Fitzwilliam[/name]. I think [name]Fitzwilliam[/name] and [name]Gwendolen[/name] flow better than [name]Fitzwilliam[/name] and Lousia, but that’s just my opinion. I also like [name]Walter[/name] for the cousin(if there is one).
For the love interests what about [name]Oliver[/name], [name]Peter[/name], [name]Max[/name], [name]George[/name] or [name]Elliott[/name]?
For the sisters how about [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Georgia[/name], [name]Eve[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name], or [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name]?
@marianadancel17- thanks for the response! I suppose [name]Fitzwilliam[/name] [name]Jr[/name] does make sense. And using a nickname seems like a good idea… Maybe he goes by [name]Fritz[/name]? [name]Gwendolen[/name] doesn’t seem too modern? That’s my only concern as I have no idea when it’s use began. I think there will be a cousin, and I think he is a [name]Walter[/name]! Yay! I have a few names taken care of!
I love the idea of [name]Elliot[/name] and [name]George[/name] for the love interests- they shall be put on the list.
I do see how [name]Gwendolen[/name] is a bit modern…but not extemelely modern. What about [name]Guinevere[/name] or [name]Geneva[/name]? [name]Both[/name] aren’t English, but are british-sounding. They both sound good with [name]Fitzwilliam[/name].
@marinadancel17- I’ve decided to go with [name]Gwendolen[/name] for now. You’re right, it’s not extremely modern. If I find another name that suits her and is a more traditionally Birish sounding name I will.
I’m still unsure of the love interest/sisters. I want one of the names to be masculine, the other name will probably be [name]Elliot[/name]. For the sisters I like [name]Alice[/name] but I also like names like Georigana and [name]Clara[/name].
Thanks for responding (again!)
