Recently fallen for [name_f]Edda[/name_f] but I’m struggling to find a middle that not only sounds ok but that I actively love. Noun names are out as could sound like ‘ate a [blank]’. The only one I’ve thought of that sounds decent is [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] but I don’t particularly like it in its own right, it just sounds ok in the combo. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is too buttoned-up, restrained & classically elegant in feel to sit well with the more unusual [name_f]Edda[/name_f], I feel - while I’m not averse to mixing styles this is too disparate imo, it jars. Names beginning A are out for the run-on factor. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a monosyllable, just these tend to me my go-to for middles.
I really like [name_f]Tess[/name_f] and I think it vibes well with [name_f]Edda[/name_f] but not sure on the consonanty clippedness? From the dd’s to the t feels a little off… I may come round to it because I do like the pairing. Thankyou
I’ve come late to the party to like [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] but with [name_f]Edda[/name_f] it sounds a little too like ‘ate a Clementine’ to me .
There are other names I like from this list - [name_f]Paige[/name_f], [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], [name_f]Tatum[/name_f], Xanthe… but they don’t quite hit something in the combo for me? I think it’s a funny one to pair because it’s both short and clunky… I think, rather than my usual go-to monosyllable middle, it maybe needs something more fluid / light / pretty in the middle spot? Something longer and mellifluous perhaps - but not another -a ending. I think it’s quite hard on it’s own so it needs prettied up rather than having something similarly clipped / clunky / heavy? Maybe a one for a bit of contrast rather than complement stylistically.
I do love [name_f]Janie[/name_f] though - I adore both [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Janie[/name_f], and while I feel [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a bit too classic / elegant next to [name_f]Edda[/name_f], [name_f]Janie[/name_f] brings a bit of fun which sort of vibes with Edda’s quirkiness, whilst also being light in contrast. Thankyou
Ooh… I can’t use [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] but like that… really like [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] and [name_f]Francine[/name_f]. Thankyou
