We’re leaning strongly to naming this baby [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] if she’s a girl (find out [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f]!). Our top contender is [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] but I’m having a few hesitations. (A baby I miscarried a long time ago has always been Sweet [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] in my mind and I’m not so sure I can use it even as a middle name)
I also really like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and think I’d love to call her by the double barrel sometimes. Trouble is I call my toddler [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] by his full name [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] a fair amount and with [name_f]Jane[/name_f] being the feminine form of [name_m]John[/name_m] that seems a bit redundant. ([name_f]Rose[/name_f] won’t work as its one of daughter’s middle name, [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Kate[/name_f] is her full name so that’s out and [name_u]Clare[/name_u] can’t work either as it’s my oldest daughter’s first name).
Maybe you would like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f] is cute for when you want to call her by both names.
I can understand your hesitation. If you don’t feel you can use it then definitely don’t but if you’re on the fence you could consider this as a way to honor [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]? My aunt had a later term miscarriage, a little girl they were going to name [name_f]Hananiah[/name_f]. When they had another daughter later they named her [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] [name_f]Hananiah[/name_f] in honor of her sister.
I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_m]Gregory[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] is very cute even if a bit redundant.
I’d say it’s a case of overthinking it. That being said, if it bothers you too much, someone mentioned the alternative [name_f]Jade[/name_f] which is very similar in sound to [name_f]Jane[/name_f] but without the redundancy.
It wouldn’t worry me to have a [name_m]John[/name_m] and a [name_f]Jane[/name_f] as middle names. Family name [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] is lovely with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. I like some other suggestions: [name_f]May[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f].
