[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Okay I’ve posted a couple times now. Always saying middle name would be [name_f]Anne[/name_f], but it always posed some hesitation due to final initials being -AD (eg SAD, DAD, BAD, NAD). I know people said initials don’t matter but I’m a perfectionist and every aspect of my child’s name needs to be on point
Anyways I had an epiphany. [name_f]Anne[/name_f] is a honor name for my mom and my husbands mom, since they share the same [name_f]Ann[/name_f] middle name (I just like it spelled with an “E” probably because of [name_f]Ann[/name_f] of [name_m]Green[/name_m] Gables). [name_f]My[/name_f] lightbulb moment is [name_f]Diana[/name_f]. The root [name_f]Di[/name_f] means 2! And we are naming after 2 Anns. Added a few to my short list too. Sibling is [name_m]Wesley[/name_m]. So now my short list is:
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] D
[name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] D
[name_f]Skyler[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] D
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] D (would triple D be too much? Maybe I would just do [name_f]Anne[/name_f] with this one and except the DAD initial. I could tell her you’re named after your daddy too lol)
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] is still my top. I just like her. But I honestly switch every other day. I think it will just depend when baby gets here and I see her. Hoping I gain a sense of sureness of who my child is. It’s maybe weird but every night before bed I tell my baby, tell me your name in my dream! No such luck so far. As always, I love good and bad opinions, other ideas, etc. I like names ending in -uh, uniqueness is a plus, a relation to princesses or nature or space is always cool to me. [name_f]My[/name_f] dog is [name_f]Luna[/name_f] so that name is out.
TYIA!!!
I like the idea of [name_f]Diana[/name_f] & I think it works great initial wise for you.
I’m not sure I love with [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] but it don’t hate it. Im just always iffy on similar ends & [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] rhymes a little / sounds a bit too similar with my accent.
The only one I’d rule out on your list (if you’re UK based) is [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] & that’s nothing to do with [name_f]Diana[/name_f]. Hot because your last name also begins with a D, making it DD or Double D as in the bra size. Could lead to an unfortunate NN with the teenage boys when she hits puberty.
What a great solution! Plus, the ‘divine’ meaning is cool - and gives you a princess connection and it’s a crater on the moon - and it’s linked to [name_f]Anne[/name_f] of [name_m]Green[/name_m] Gables if I’ve remembering rightly?
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is cool! [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] has charm! [name_f]Skyler[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is unexpected and appealing!
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is a bit of a tongue twister for me I’m afraid.
A few other ideas:
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Zara[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] (or Dianne)
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
That is a good point. Maybe I do
[name_f]Skyler[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
But for the ones ending in “-uh” I do [name_f]Dianne[/name_f].
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Dianne[/name_f] or [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Dianne[/name_f]
I agree [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Dianne[/name_f] or [name_f]Dianna[/name_f] is just too many D names with the D last name. I have thought of the DD initials. I do like the nickname [name_f]Deedee[/name_f] though! Teen boys might make the double d connection… but then again maybe not bc they’re dumb
[name_m]Or[/name_m] if they do, it will probably just be a “so what” moment. The women in my family sadly have large chests. So it likely wont be a moment of calling her double d and she’s flat chested. All good things to consider though
For the first names that end in uh I would probable change [name_f]Diana[/name_f] to [name_f]Diane[/name_f]
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Diane[/name_f], [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Diane[/name_f] nn Lilah.??
[name_m]Or[/name_m] maybe pair [name_f]Ann[/name_f] with a first name that starts with a vowel.
From your short list I love [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] also because it’s different and I’ve only met one other person named [name_f]Zelda[/name_f]. And [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
Maybe [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] as a middle name it has the z in [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] and the backwards [name_f]Ann[/name_f] in it
I really like [name_f]Diana[/name_f]. Would you consider [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] or [name_f]Grace[/name_f] as well? [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is quite sweet.
I really love [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]. Here’s some other suggestions just in case:
[name_f]Andromeda[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Celestia[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangelina[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Safiya[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Regina[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Augusta[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Leda[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
[name_f]Jacinda[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
Not me thinking this discussion was going to be about wanting opinons on using [name_f]Epiphany[/name_f] as a middle name
I think [name_f]Diana[/name_f] can definitely work as a middle name to honour both of your moms!
From your list my personal favourite is [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] but I do find [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] to be a bit of a mouthful so I would go with [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] or [name_f]Zelda[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] (especially if that is your number 1 fave name!!)
I also think another way to go about using [name_f]Anne[/name_f] if you happen to prefer it to [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is by adding another middle name so the initials would be _A_D or __AD
Lmao [name_f]Epiphany[/name_f] would be quite the name
I love [name_f]Grace[/name_f] but I do have a strong negative association with the name because I had an elementary bully named that. [name_f]My[/name_f] mom would remember and I’m sure she’d look at me sideways if I chose that name to honor her lol
