We are expecting baby girl #2[name_f][/name_f]. We like the name [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. We would like to use [name_f]Molly[/name_f] as a middle (honor) name but are not sure it flows well. Last name is 2 syllables as well. Thoughts on [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Molly[/name_f] as a first/middle name?
[name_m]Welcome[/name_m] to Nameberry!
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Molly[/name_f] doesn’t have the most perfect flow, but meaning is always more important than flow for me. Most people don’t have perfect name, and it adds to the charm!
[name_m]Welcome[/name_m]!
[name_f][/name_f]I agree with @VEL[name_f][/name_f] that the flow isn’t perfect but in my opinion honour names get a pass [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Molly[/name_f] is a lovely combo (although I may be biased as they’re two of my favourite girl names!!)
If it works for you and your family, I think you should definitely go for it.
Both are so lovely but I do agree the flow isn’t the best.
[name_f][/name_f]Some alternatives for [name_f]Alice[/name_f]:
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Alicia[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Allison[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Florence[/name_f]
I think Alice Molly works! It flows okay to me and gives you the honor you want!
Something like Alice Mollyanne, Alice Marisol, Alice Romola, Alice Marigold, or Alice Melody could work a nod to Molly, while Eloise Molly, Eliza Molly, or Cecelia Molly might also appeal?
I think it’s simple and pretty and it works. You could go for something like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Molly[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], or another short 2nd middle to improve the flow if it bothers you.
I think it’s beautiful and flows great personally
While I agree [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Molly[/name_f] doesn’t have the best flow, I also agree that meaning trumps flow! [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Molly[/name_f] is lovely combo. [name_f][/name_f] If you’re looking for alternatives, [name_f]Molly[/name_f] is originally a nickname for [name_f]Mary[/name_f], and I think [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] flows a bit better? [name_f][/name_f] But I think I would honestly stick with just [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Molly[/name_f]!
[name_f][/name_f]Good luck!
The more I say [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Molly[/name_f] the more it grows on me. I think it’s the 2 names with 2 syllables make the name abrupt [name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f], but it sure is growing on me

[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Maureen[/name_f]
