What do you think of the name [name]Anais[/name] (pronounced like [name]Analise[/name], but without the L)?
I personally [name]LOVE[/name] the name, but have mainly gotten negative feedback about our choice from family who are concerned that no one will know how to pronounce it.
Also, more importantly, I need middle name ideas!!! It’s a hard name to find a middle name for. I prefer something Spanish.
Some of my choices (don’t love any of them) are [name]Anais[/name] [name]Elena[/name] or [name]Anais[/name] [name]Estefania[/name]
I’m sorry but you’re going to get negative feedback from me too. I have been trying to word my reasoning, but it sounds quite crass and harsh no matter which way I say it, so better to leave it as a plain “dislike”.
In saying that, I think the previous poster’s suggestion of [name]Viviana[/name] as a middle name is quite pretty.
I love [name]Anais[/name]. I have had it on my list on and off, but my SO and I know someone named [name]Anais[/name], so it’s out. I like [name]Anais[/name] [name]Liliana[/name] or [name]Anais[/name] [name]Eliana[/name]. I think it needs a frillier mn.
ABSOLUTELY [name]ADORE[/name] [name]ANAIS[/name]. But I prefer it with the umlaut, like this: [name]Ana[/name]ïs Or [name]Ana[/name]ís if that’s the Spanish way.
I love the suggestions of [name]Ana[/name]ïs [name]Liliana[/name], [name]Ana[/name]ïs [name]Mariposa[/name] and [name]Ana[/name]ïs [name]Rafaela[/name].
I also like:
[name]Ana[/name]ïs Maialen (Basque form of [name]Madeleine[/name], other pretty Basque names include Lilura & Lorea)
[name]Ana[/name]ïs [name]Isabel/name
[name]Ana[/name]ïs [name]Paloma[/name]
[name]Ana[/name]ïs [name]Emilia[/name]
[name]Ana[/name]ïs [name]Magdalena[/name]
[name]Ana[/name]ïs [name]Javiera[/name]
[name]Ana[/name]ïs [name]Lucia[/name]
Beautiful suggestions ladies, thanks so much and keep them coming Yes, we will be spelling it with the accent mark, the Spanish way on the birth cert. I really love Maialen, but I’m wondering if it may be better to keep the name simpler with a first name that may also be difficult for English speakers.
I do love [name]Anais[/name] and really wanted to use it on my daughter. It sounds so pretty in Spanish. However i would NEVER use the name as i met an adult [name]Anais[/name] who grew up in the USA and she said she was called Anus as a kid.
