I need a middle name for this baby! :slight_smile: Any ideas? I’m thinking something simple, classic and beautiful but having a hard time coming up with something that isn’t overly popular. DH isn’t crazy about [name]Rose[/name]. Our last name is [name]Fleming[/name]. And my other kids are [name]Andrew “Kaleb”[/name] and [name]Adeline Blayne[/name].

Avonlea is such a gorgeous name! I love it because I love “[name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables,” and it was such a beautiful place in the novel/movie, but I also love “Avonlea” because it looks and sounds so very pretty. What a wonderful, unique name choice!

Thanks so much! We pronounce her name [name]Ad[/name]-uh-line. And our son goes by [name]Kaleb[/name] as he’s named after DH and I didn’t want two of the same name in the house. But now I really wish he’d gone by [name]Andrew[/name] for the cuteness sake of their names! :wink:

While I like each of the different pronunciations for [name]Adeline[/name], I think the way you pronounce it would have to be my favorite! That would have been cute if your son had gone by [name]Andrew[/name], for I agree that Andew, [name]Adeline[/name], & Avonlea are adorable together! Honestly, not really. Avonlea [name]Claire[/name] sticks out as one I like. I [name]ADORE[/name] Avonlea [name]Rose[/name]. [name]Rose[/name] just seems to be the perfect fit of classic, simple but still feminine. And I like that it’s only one syllable. But DH just isn’t crazy about it. I’m about to scratch this name altogether I’m so tired of trying to find a middle name we can agree on!

No worries about not really liking any of the middle names I suggested. I do think [name]Rose[/name] is absolutely stellar with Avonlea, and I do agree that [name]Rose[/name] is the perfect blend of classic, simple, and feminine. It really is unfortunate that your husband isn’t into it! :cry:

I just noticed the original post is old, but I was wondering what name you decided on. I love the name Avonlea. My grandmother introduced me to [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables and I loved it. My husband and I like traditional boy names like [name]James[/name] and [name]Jack[/name], but we want to be more creative with girl names… so Avonlea is on our list. My husband is worried about people pronouncing it wrong, so we may change the spelling - although I’d rather not. If you did go with the name Avonlea, did you have people pronouncing it wrong? Anyway, I googled “a middle name for Avonlea”, because we are having trouble as well and it lead me here. So far [name]Grace[/name] is the only one I’ve found I like.
