Thank you in advance for any thoughts/advice! My husband and I are 99% sure we are naming our baby Lucian (“loo-shen”) but are struggling with a middle. Baby will have both of our surnames (one is Italian, one is Spanish) so finding something that flows is a bit tricky.
Michael is my Spouse’s name (and truly the best man I’ve ever known) so I would not mind giving baby his name for a middle. Plus, it already “flows” with his surname to our own ears of course.
Arthur is a name we both like - we love the meaning and we both enjoy Arthurian legend. Plus we want to call him “Louie Bear” as a nickname when he’s little so it fits perfectly (not that the middle name has to…anyone can be called “Bear”)
Marius is a name my husband likes but we both think that two strong Ancient Roman names together sound a bit… intense. It would be a nice way to try to honor my mother however. Her name was Mayra.
And Elio because we love the meaning and we like that it is both a Spanish as well as an Italian name. Both of my husband’s grandmothers were Helen which would be a nice connection.
- Lucian Michael
- Lucian Arthur
- Lucian Marius
- Lucian Elio
