I recently came across [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and I’m starting to really like it. I’m a little stuck on a good middle name to pair it with though. Last name is one syllable. Older sisters are [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] and [name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] so something 3 syllable would be ideal.
A lot of these aren’t three syllables, but I don’t think sibling names don’t necessarily have to have the same number of syllables- in fact, most I know don’t and don’t really care. 2-2-1 usually flows fine anyways.
I love [name_f]Edith[/name_f]-- it’s a great name due for a comeback! [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] was the first combination that came to mind. A few more possibilities:
I like some of these but a lot aren’t sitting quite right.
I really like [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] but am concerned these just make the name seem really old. I know not everyone sees the appeal of [name_f]Edith[/name_f] so I would really like something to liven it up.
I love [name_f]Edith[/name_f] as well, but fear too many people think it’s too “old ladyish” so I totally agree that it needs to be paired with something a little more “hip” for a lack of a better word. I still love classic and think you should stick with it, but maybe something a little spunkier. I’m not totally sure you’ll be able to find that spunky of a name that’s 3 syllables as most girl names that long are more frilly and classic.
I do like some that were suggested though - [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Calista[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]. They’re all beautiful and nice, but not necessarily stuffy or overly predictable. They all share a little spunk to them.
I’ll try for some 3 syllable but I may also go rogue and suggest some others…
Thanks sllah! I love [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Calista[/name_f] especially but there are a few on your list that I crossed off as first names for various reasons that could work for a middle.
And on a side note we seem to have similar tastes in names. We really like [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f] but won’t use it because the gwen variations are a little too popular where I live. And [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is the other top contender we are considering. ([name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f])
I love the suggestion of [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]! Gorgeous. Also, [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_u]Piper[/name_u] (two syllables but I like it), [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Camelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Camilla[/name_f].
I’m 21 and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] is a family name. [name_f]My[/name_f] middle name is [name_f]Grace[/name_f] after my grandmother. I have always felt like it had a nice flow to it. Especially since I go by ‘[name_f]Edie[/name_f]’ a lot. [name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] just rolls off the tongue!
