Personally, I prefer [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Violet[/name], but I voted for [name]Victoria[/name] because I think that is the name you truly love, and both are very pretty anyway!
I do love [name]Violet[/name], and I think it is beautiful with [name]Elizabeth[/name]… but I just do not know. lol. I love the name [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Victoria[/name], but some people I know may think it comes across snooty or get a ‘who do you think you are’ attitude. I know it sounds crazy but it does happen. Then I thought so what?? It is beautiful, and isn’t one of the best things about naming a baby being able to give them a little piece of what you hope for for them? Besides, I don’t think it is snotty, I just love the name. sigh. I am at the beginning of my third trimester now, so I blame these hormones.
[name]Even[/name] though I voted for [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Violet[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] is beautiful too. Now that I’ve read your post, I believe your daughter’s name should be the one that thrills your heart the most. You don’t want to live with name regrets!! This is just a matter of preference, there is no “bad” name here. [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] is a great classic name that will serve your daughter well.
I love [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Violet[/name]! I remember seeing how excited you were about [name]Violet[/name], haha, so that just seems the natural choice. [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] is too long, and a bit too regal/traditional for me. I like that [name]Violet[/name] softens it, and also gives it a bit of personality.
Good luck!
[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] is a beautiful name. If it’s your true love you should use it.
@ ashthedreamer – I know lol I swear I am losing it. I do still love [name]Violet[/name], for a ton of reasons. And I love [name]Victoria[/name] for totally different reasons, so I am at a loss lol. I guess that is why I wanted some outside opinions. Maybe I should relax and give it time… [name]One[/name] day I will wake up feeling one thing and the next day another. I guess I should just feel lucky I have narrowed it down to two names, pretty impressive for me
I chose [name]Victoria[/name] for two reasons. 1) [name]Violet[/name] is so much more popular these days, and with a common name like [name]Elizabeth[/name] I think [name]Victoria[/name] just seems a little more original, if that makes sense. And 2) a friend of my sister’s middle name is [name]Victoria[/name] and she has always said she loves it. At the end of the day, you should go with whatever one feels best to you and don’t worry about if others think its a snooty name.
Personally, I like [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Violet[/name] as I imagine the colour and the smell of violet blossoms when I think of the name. It sounds vintage and quirky having [name]Violet[/name] with [name]Elizabeth[/name].
However, [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] has a classic traditional feel.
[name]One[/name] deciding factor to consider- IF for whatever reason your little [name]Elizabeth[/name] decided she wanted to be known my her middle name in the future which would be the one you prefer? [name]Violet[/name] or [name]Victoria[/name]? I think you mentioned DH nixed [name]Violet[/name] as a FN? But your mum adored it? What is his thought about [name]Victoria[/name] as a FN if she wanted to use her MN?
Having now considered [name]Victoria[/name] as a FN, here’s another final thought… wouldn’t [name]Victoria[/name] be a PERFECT sister for [name]Elizabeth[/name]? Maybe it is worth saving it as a FN for #2?
[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Victoria[/name] [name]Rose[/name]… ahhh the poetry!!! sweet classics with floral middles.
emiliaj
In general, I prefer [name]Violet[/name]. But with [name]Elizabeth[/name] I prefer [name]Victoria[/name]
I want to love [name]Violet[/name] b/c the flowers and color are lovely but I prefer [name]Victoria[/name].
thanks for the input everyone! I swear every time I check the names are tied, guess either way it would not be a wrong choice… I love [name]Violet[/name] because it adds a softness and sweetness to [name]Elizabeth[/name]. I love [name]Victoria[/name] because it just strikes me as so sophisticated and classy. Like I said, very different reasons here. Keep the opinions coming, I really do love to hear them.
Thanks everybody. I know I was just bragging about narrowing my choices down, but now I have thrown [name]Valora[/name] or ([name]Velora[/name]), [name]Verity[/name], and [name]Vida[/name] back into the mix. sighhhhh. Naming a child is difficult.
[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Victoria[/name] are two great names and either combo is good. Bottomline let your heart speak to you.
You can always save one of the ‘V’ names for a future 2nd daughter.
