[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all
I have made two previous posts called “A sister for [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]” and “[name_f]Elke[/name_f] vs [name_f]Elka[/name_f]”. We are getting closer to our due date and still trying to decide on a name for our little one if she is a girl!
We are currently deciding between: [name_f]Elke[/name_f] (pronounced [name_f]El[/name_f]-kuh), [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], the first two being my husband’s favourites and the latter two being mine. I do love [name_f]Elke[/name_f], but am stuck on a middle name. Help!
Front runners so far;
[name_f]Elke[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] (our favourite so far)
[name_f]Elke[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] (because I just love the name [name_f]Olive[/name_f]!)
[name_f]Elke[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] (love love love but see below for info on last name)
[name_f]Elke[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Elke[/name_f] [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] (a middle name with sentimental value and my favourite boys name)!
[name_f]Elke[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] (not a huge fan of this one).
[name_f]Elke[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] (don’t love the name, but this was my late grandmother’s middle name and I think it kind of works here).
Our last name starts with a hard consonant, is there syllables and ends in a “ee” sound. I think that a short one syllable middle name would work best but open to suggestions.
Because [name_f]Elke[/name_f] is highly unusual name where we live in Australia, I would prefer a sweet, familiar middle name (doesn’t have to be common just not too out there).
Our daughters name is [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] have been suggested but my husband dislikes both immensely.
Thanks in advance for all your help and suggestions - they are greatly appreciated.
[name_f]Elke[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Elke[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] seem to flow the best. The others do not.
I like [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Elke[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as sisters
I really like [name_f]Elke[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f].
It’s short and sweet, flows really nicely, goes well with a long last name, fits nicely with [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], and would make a good compromise name (using one of his favourites for the first and one of yours for the middle). I think it’s perfect!
