Help! All of you berries always have the best suggestions. We found out last [name]Wednesday[/name] that our first baby is a BOY! [name]Ezra[/name] has been our #1 choice for a first name from the beginning. We tossed around the idea of using [name]Anthony[/name] as a middle name, given its family importance (I don’t personally care for it otherwise, but it’s the name of DH’s grandfather), but our last name starts with a T, so now we are having second thoughts on the E.A.T. initials. Kids can be brutal enough on the playground without basically handing them ammunition.
Other names on our list include:
[name]Atticus[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Flynn[/name]
[name]Edison[/name]
[name]Bennett[/name]
The only other family name we are considering is [name]Morgan[/name] (my maiden name) but it’s also my nephew’s middle name. Weird?
That being said, what are some suggestions on a mn for my [name]Ezra[/name]?
I really like [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Morgan[/name]! I wish I could use my maiden name as a middle but it’s long and Italian lol. It’s not weird at all for cousins to have the same middle! Heck, my fam uses [name]Maria[/name] and [name]Giovanni[/name] in the middle like it’s the only name in [name]Italy[/name].
I love [name]Ezra[/name]! If you nixed [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Anthony[/name] because of the EAT thing, I would nix [name]Atticus[/name], as well. Or is that just for reference to your style? I really like [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Bennett[/name]! I also love the idea of [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Morgan[/name]. If [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Anthony[/name] doesn’t work, does your DH’s grandfather have a MN that would be usable?
I really like [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Morgan[/name], and I think it’s a lovely idea to use your maiden name for your son. We have several family members who share middle names. My middle name, for example, is popular in my family, because it’s the name of a great aunt. I think of it as a special bond with my mother and cousin who also share the name as a mn.
Our last name is long and Italian, but I totally understand! And DH’s family does the same thing with [name]Anthony[/name]. There are at least 6 that I know of just in this batch of 1st cousins, so I am not mourning its loss too much Thanks!!
The list was more to reference our style, sorry! DH’s grandfather’s name is [name]Anthony[/name] [name]Charles[/name]. We’ve discussed [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Charles[/name], but we both feel pretty passive about it. [name]Don[/name]'t hate it, but don’t love it.
We’ve talked about [name]Ezra[/name] [name]Flynn[/name] as well! It’s creeping its way to the top of my list.
It was all girls in my family, so I think my dad would appreciate it. I haven’t brought the idea up with my sister yet, who named her son [name]Brody[/name] [name]Morgan[/name] 3 years ago. But it definitely is growing on me!

I have to say the initial thing gets so many people hung up, and how many elementary kids even know each other’s initials? And ammunition or not, if a kid doesn’t like your kid, he’ll call him something, regardless of your kid’s name.
I also don’t think it’s weird to share a middle name with a cousin, especially when it is a family name.
