We are will be naming our third child (due Dec 15) after a recently deceased family member whose name begins with “F”.
Last name is 1 syllable, sounds like Batch, but with a “V”.
Older brothers are [name]Alexander[/name] and [name]Oliver[/name].
We have settle on the boy name - [name]Frederick[/name] [name]Charles[/name].
We are having trouble finding a good middle for our girl name, [name]Faye[/name]. We are not so into the 1 syllable first and last, but is is important to honour this lovely lady as directly as possible.
If we were not naming for anyone, she would be [name]Violet[/name] or [name]Beatrice[/name].
Our current options:
[name]Faye[/name] [name]Juniper[/name] (can also honour another family member, [name]June[/name])
[name]Faye[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] (guilty pleasure)
[name]Faye[/name] [name]Gemma[/name] (another direct honour name)
[name]Faye[/name] [name]Cecily[/name]
[name]Faye[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] (love, but too popular here to use as a first name)
What are your favourites and do you have any other suggestions?
Thank you!!
[name]Welcome[/name] to Nameberry! I think [name]Faye[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] is beautiful. You may want to consider a double-barrel first name to break the single-syllable flow of the first and last names. You could make a hyphenated name easily out of any of the names listed above, or you could add some new names in:
I like the idea of a double-barrel, Alzora!
I would like to keep the first name as just [name]Faye[/name], but I would consider names like:
[name]Faye[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] called [name]Faye[/name]-[name]Beth[/name]
[name]Faye[/name] [name]Annabelle[/name] called [name]Faye[/name]-[name]Belle[/name]
Hmm…I’ll get working on some more options like those!
I think [name]Faye[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] is beautiful! I normally like [name]Faye[/name] first names to be followed by a vowel starting middle name like [name]Faye[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] (very beautiful choice!) but I think [name]Faye[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] is perfect! It just… works.
[name]Faye[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] and [name]Faye[/name] [name]Violet[/name] are both really pretty.
My youngest daughter is [name]Margot[/name] [name]Cecily[/name], so I have a bias there but when I say it out loud, [name]Faye[/name] [name]Cecily[/name] + your last name sounds really lovely. [name]Faye[/name] [name]Acacia[/name] is pretty as well.
Double barreling [name]Faye[/name] would be super sweet… You can put another middle after it.
To me “[name]Faye[/name] [name]Lee[/name]” sounds like a cute nickname in itself, like one name almost. [name]Faye[/name] [name]Leigh[/name] if you want a fuller look.
It’s always hard for me to use a one syllable name as a first name and not a middle name, the flow just isn’t there for me. I love the name [name]Rex[/name] for a boy but can’t think of anything that sounds good as the middle name with such a short first name. I have always gone by my middle name and it hasn’t been a big deal, I would make it a middle name. [name]Faye[/name] is very cute though.
Most people liked [name]Faye[/name] [name]Eloise[/name], and I agree that the flow is great.
I am also considering some of the double-barrel names that were suggested - especially [name]Faye[/name]-[name]Rose[/name], as [name]Rosemary[/name] was also on our name list.
And Wattle, I also love the subtle alliteration of [name]Faye[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name]. Definitely going to be adding that to the list!
We are naming after the matriarch of our family and a holocaust survivor, so using the name as exactly as possible takes precedence over my own pet peeve of 1:1 syllable names.
You have all given me many more options than I thought I had:)
