I like the flow of Félix Agustín with your surname a little better than Félix [name]Ignacio[/name]. I know a lot of Hispanic males have muliple o’s in their names/surnames but it’s nice to have an option that isn’t heavy on the “o” sound.
I voted [name]Felix[/name] [name]Agustin[/name]. I am a huge sucker for [name]August[/name] names, so I couldn’t not vote for it. I never really got the appeal of the [name]Iggy[/name] names, either, so [name]Felix[/name] [name]Agustin[/name] was an easy choice for me. I think [name]Felix[/name] [name]Agustin[/name] M0ren0 is great!
Good luck!
I also voted for Félix [name]August[/name]ín. It flows well.
My son’s name is [name]Ignacio[/name]! I think it pairs well with [name]Felix[/name], but Agustín sounds great, too. Two nice options, I would say.
[name]Ignacio[/name] is such a great name, but I see two problems with the combo [name]Felix[/name] [name]Ignacio[/name] Moreno.
#1, as mischka pointed out, is the repetitive -o ending.
#2, [name]Felix[/name] ends with a hard sound (“cks”). [name]Agustin[/name] starts with a long open aaahh-- an all-vowel syllable. Therefore you have a lilting pause between “cks” and the hard “guh” of the second syllable. [name]Ignacio[/name], however, has the hard “guh” sound embedded in the first syllable, so you have the less melodious “cks-igg” rather than “cks-aaa-guh”.
This is helpful. I also prefer Félix Agustín, but am open to using [name]Ignacio[/name] as the middle name instead, if it helps DH get on board with Félix for a first. In general, though, DH doesn’t care much about middle names, so I hope he’ll agree to Félix Agustín since I know he likes Agustín, too.
([name]Blade[/name], I appreciate your detailed analysis of the sounds and how they go together - I hadn’t though of that before.)
For what it’s worth, I saw the title of your thread and I immediately thought “Félix [name]Ignacio[/name]!” Then I opened up the discussion and there it was! I prefer [name]Ignacio[/name] over Agustín, because Félix has the stress on the second syllable, and [name]Ignacio[/name] does too. It has a satisfying rhythm. To my ears, Félix Agustín is not as balanced rhythmically, but I think it’s still very very handsome. I get what [name]Blade[/name] is saying about the hard G in [name]Ignacio[/name], but I think in Spanish it’s actually pronounced with a little softness, not like [name]Gus[/name] or [name]Maggie[/name]. I like that [name]Felix[/name] means happiness and [name]Ignacio[/name] makes me think of the word ignite… a bright flame of happiness.
