Middle Name for Garrett

My husband’s middle name is [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] and I think it flows pretty well

[name_m]Garrett[/name_m] [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]
[name_m]Garrett[/name_m] [name_m]Crane[/name_m]
[name_m]Garrett[/name_m] [name_m]Louis[/name_m]
[name_m]Garrett[/name_m] [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]
[name_m]Garrett[/name_m] [name_m]Paul[/name_m]
[name_m]Garrett[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]

I love [name_m]Garret[/name_m]! [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Garret[/name_m] [name_u]Gene[/name_u]? Or using another family name.

@gsweets - [name_m]Garrett[/name_m] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] does flow well, I think I might even like [name_m]Garrett[/name_m] Mitchum more, but we have a bad personal association with that and DH isn’t a huge fan of surnames as middle names otherwise I would use [name_m]Garrett[/name_m] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m].

@opelle - None of those are quite what we are looking for but thank you for the suggestions.

@boyandgirl - I love the idea of using another family name. My FIL has been honored a few times but a lot of the other males in DH family are [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] (both grandpas and a great grandpa), not sure of their middle names. There’s [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] on my side. I think we need to do some more digging but I would rather have a middle name that makes [name_m]Garrett[/name_m] sound awesome vs using a family name from really far back. [name_m]Garrett[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] Cook could work but I’m not over the moon about it.

[name_m]Garrett[/name_m] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] came to mind for me. [name_m]Garrett[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] is nice as well, however, I’m partial to one-syllable middle names.

Looked in to DH family tree a bit and it turns out his Grandpa and Great Grandpa’s middle names were [name_m]Eugene[/name_m] as well. So if we want to go for an honor way it seems like [name_m]Garrett[/name_m] [name_m]Eugene[/name_m] is the way to do it.

Apparently [name_m]Eugene[/name_m] means [name_m]Noble[/name_m].
I’m not sure if it fits your style but it’s kind of like [name_m]Knox[/name_m], so maybe [name_m]Garrett[/name_m] [name_m]Noble[/name_m] could be an updated/subtle family honor?

I do think it’s a little dated compared to your girls’ names but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I feel like people often have different taste in girls names and boys names so I wouldn’t think twice about it. If that’s the name for your son, that’s his name yknow? He’s not gonna spend his whole life next to his older sisters so if you like it in general- regardless of whether it fits their names- I say go for it.
