Middle name for Graham

Hello!

I’m newly pregnant with my fourth and I’m tossing a lot of names around. I am currently crushing hard on [name_m]Graham[/name_m]. I have a few middles that I want to use. One is [name_u]Lee[/name_u] after my very awesome grandfather [name_m]Leroy[/name_m]. My second option is my dad’s name [name_u]James[/name_u]. We have a love/hate relationship, but I know he’s love it. I also think it’s a good name. The third option is [name_m]Connor[/name_m] after someone that really inspires me. Lastly, I have [name_m]Melvin[/name_m]. That’s my husband’s grandfather. He says he is awesome. He won’t let me shorten it to [name_u]Mel[/name_u] due to a icky uncle named [name_u]Mel[/name_u]. Thoughts?

[name_m]Graham[/name_m] is such a sweet name; I can picture a soft-spoken, thoughtful little boy.

Of all your options, I like [name_u]Conner[/name_u] best for a middle name; I don’t like one-syllable first and middle combos, in general.

[name_m]Leroy[/name_m] means “the [name_m]King[/name_m]” and other names sharing that meaning, or including the “[name_u]Lee[/name_u]” sound, that better flow with [name_m]Graham[/name_m] include…

[name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] (my favorite)
[name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Kingston[/name_m]
[name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_u]Leland[/name_u]

Good luck!

I adore [name_m]Graham[/name_m]. Out of your middle name choices, I prefer [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u].

[name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] runs together for me, so it sounds like one name: Gramly. However, [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Leroy[/name_m] is awesome. I love that combo. [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Connor[/name_m] also works but is way less interesting. [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Melvin[/name_m] does not work well because of the ms running together. [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]…it’s okay, but I don’t like two one syllable names together. Go with [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Leroy[/name_m]!

What about [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Levi[/name_m]? This could be for [name_m]Leroy[/name_m] and [name_m]Melvin[/name_m]. [name_u]James[/name_u] seems to M-heavy with [name_m]Graham[/name_m], but what about [name_u]Jay[/name_u] or [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] (the original form of [name_u]James[/name_u]) instead? [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] or [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] are good combos. You could even stretch to [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Jacoby[/name_m] as honoring [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Leroy[/name_m].

Hm, I typically think [name_m]Graham[/name_m] sounds best with a three syllable name in the middle (i.e. [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Edward[/name_m]).
I, too, was going to suggest [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Jacoby[/name_m]! I think that’s stunning.
[name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] as a mid-point between [name_u]Lee[/name_u] and [name_u]Mel[/name_u]?

[name_m]Graham[/name_m] is a wonderful choice!

[name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is fine. What about [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_u]Leland[/name_u]?

[name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] is nice. [name_u]James[/name_u] seems to me to have more substance (as a name) than [name_u]Lee[/name_u].

[name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Connor[/name_m] - I’m sorry but I’ve taught so many Connors I never want to meet another one.

[name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_m]Melvin[/name_m]. I may be weird but I love [name_m]Melvyn[/name_m] and [name_m]Mervyn[/name_m] and all sorts of similar names.

I don’t know where you live, but [name_m]Melvin[/name_m] might be tease-worthy where I live. I like [name_m]Graham[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] best.

[name_m]How[/name_m] do you say [name_m]Graham[/name_m]? [name_m]GRAM[/name_m] or [name_u]GRAY[/name_u]-am? If the latter, I like [name_u]Lee[/name_u], if the former, I prefer [name_m]Connor[/name_m].

We’re in rural South [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] for at least two more years. I’m sure they’ll all say [name_m]Gram[/name_m]. I work at a school too so I understand names your hear a lot! [name_u]Tyler[/name_u] is a main example for me. My other kids are [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], and [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] if that matters.
