Thanks to all the suggestions on my last post, I’ve decided to go with [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]. It’s top 100 here (UK) :(, but I think the nickname [name_f]Hettie[/name_f] makes it more distinct. Now, I’m on the search for a middle name. A few combos I’ve come up with are:
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] - I have two family members named [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]; it is also my second middle and my aunt’s middle name. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is too straight-laced for me, I think [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is spunkier. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like the double T ending though. [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] - Honours my aunt [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], but [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] is more unique. [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] - I can’t decide which spelling I prefer; [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is sophisticated and regal, but [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] is more edgy and spunky.
But, none of these really feel right. So, I’d love to hear some more ideas.
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] are gorgeous. I love the nickname [name_f]Hettie[/name_f].
Oooh, I love [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] “[name_f]Hettie[/name_f]”
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] - I love that this name allows you to carry on what seems to be a bit of a family tradition and I think the flow is great. I agree with you about the double “t” ending, though. It isn’t very anesthetically pleasing on paper. Using [name_f]Margo[/name_f] as opposed to [name_f]Margot[/name_f] provides an easy fix without changing the actual name. [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Margo[/name_f] is phenomenal.
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] - I love this one, too. I think the flow os this one is my favorite and I love that there is a family connection. I have nothing critical to say about this one.
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] - This one is. . .fine. The combo is nice and it sounds sweet, but [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] seems a little lackluster compared to the other middles you are considering. [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] is actually my favorite spelling of the name, followed closely by [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], but I think [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] works best with [name_f]Harriet[/name_f].
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] is gorgeous.
NB: [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] is my favorite name right now, my combination of choice at the moment is [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f].
Thanks for the suggestions so far. I think this is the fastest response I’ve ever had! It seems that most of you like [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f], which is the one I’m leaning towards. I like @acoker95’s suggestion of dropping the T, but I dunno… it just seems incomplete, you know? I will mull it over some more. [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] is still on the table too as I like the flow. I also like pps suggestions of [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. Keep em coming, please!
A friend of mine recently had a little girl called [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] (nickname [name_f]Hattie[/name_f]) and she used the middle name [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] which I think is precious!
Some other ideas:
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
I personally love your idea of [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Katherine[/name_f], although I am personally more find if [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] as, like you said, it seems a little more edgy however it is still tradition and it doesn’t look tacky or like you’ve got the Kardashian bug.
