We are having our third girl, and I’m giving my husband his #1 pick for first name - [name_f]Jessica[/name_f]. Not my favorite, but I got the first two, so he totally gets this one! I have always loved the name [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] - not his favorite - but I get to pick the middle name. So:
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
This has been her name since we knew she was a she. But I keep flip-flopping on whether or not they go well together.
My $.02: Though I like the idea, I find [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] a bit difficult to say — get caught up in the C’s. [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] flows more readily.
Both [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] would work!
Because I’m the annoying berry that always suggests another name :), have you considered [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f]? I recently heard it and liked it a lot, and it’s a beautiful flower! It’s pronounced it [name_u]Jess[/name_u]-a-min (rhymes with bin). I don’t know if it would go with your other two kids’ names, because it’s a little different, but I just am not a big fan of [name_f]Jessica[/name_f].
Thanks everyone for the feedback! I don’t love the name [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] either, but since it’s our third girl, and hubby really wants it, I’m giving it to him! ”
I’d say go with the name you love. [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] wouldn’t be my first pick but if you love it then by all mean go for it. Presumably it will be your last change to use it. I also like [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] but I do agree that the double C sound so close together is harder to say. [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] has a better flow in my opinion. But like I said, go with the one you like the best! [name_f]Hope[/name_f] I helped a little, and congrats!
To be quite honest, I think the C’s in [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] make for too sharp a name. And [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is a tiny bit awkward to say, though both names are very pretty. Some suggestions:
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Seline[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is lovely. [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is also very pretty, but I prefer [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] with [name_f]Jessica[/name_f].
One of my friends is called [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] (among many others!) and her second name is [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f]. When I heard this, I was just totally awestruck because it altered the combo from the pretty-but-common-name-that-loads-of-girls-have + middle name into something really lovely and special and somehow blue and gold (in my opinion). [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f] has forever afterwards been my number 1 combo for [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] (though [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] isn’t anywhere near a serious contender).
I don’t know whether you’ll like it in the same way or not, but it’s worth putting out there
